Red stems?!?!?!what does this mean?

  1. I am a first time grower and after germinating and planting
    The sprouts developed a redish purple stem
    What am i doing wrong?

  2. I don't think anything is wrong. Just the color of the stem of this strain, me thinks. The leaves tell you more about problems than stems do. Usually. Keep her going, she looks OK at this point.

  8. red stem means nothing at that age.
     
  9. It means your plants carry the genes for anthocyanin, a common plant pigment. All that means is that you may get purplish buds if all the other conditions are right. Some strains need cooler night-time temps to bring out the purple. Others are just purple no matter what!
