This plant got root rot about 2 months ago (Aerogarden Farm XL, 60W LED) and almost died... fortunately the beneficials brought it back. It recovered as well as it could. Pistils are browning and trichomes look a week out before cloudy. The buds are OK on top, just not very dense. But sparse on the bottom. How much longer should I leave this for? Or would you harvest the top and let it continue growing? (have never done that before). Thanks.
Same answer as before. Cut out the nitrogen (which seems to have been high throughout) and let her enjoy some P & K for another week or two or more.
Is the nitrogen what causes the pistils to turn brown or the leaves to brown at the edges? In other words how can one see nitrogen excess? The interesting thing is that I have been following Advanced Nutrients schedule... and it's still too much... hmm.
causes lots of problems; reduced yield, failure to flower, stunting. that's a clear indicator. It's clawing. You need to consider the system you are running. Not all hydro/aero is the same. You ever compare the numbers to what CCH2O feeding schedule is? Crazy different EC than what AN tells you. Personally, I don't like AN and will never use them. They are overpriced. You can use Flora with less problems. You need to monitor the numbers every day (until you know what's happening) and need to change the nutes every 10 days or so, or you are asking for problems.
Thanks for your detailed responses which are always very detailed and kind. I really appreciate it. I'm not in the US so limited with my choices in every regard. Thanks for your link which is amazing. I had fried a previous attempt and I called AN to ask for clarification. They told me I was nuking them and to halve the dosages for hydro. They also cited the massive limitations of the small reservoirs with Aerogardens (8L/2gallons). Too much can go wrong too quickly. As I mentioned, the plants were super happy until 3 days ago. So what I am using is 1/2 of the recommended amount but apparently even that is too much. I do change the water once a week. That was IMO a major reason (in addition to discovering a light leak) why I even got this far along. A learning process indeed. Thanks again!
