Recording software (KSR read!)

  1. hey, i heard that track by KSR and was wondering how its done, are you just using a mic plugged into your computer ? me and some friends want to do some tracks on saturday night, we have a mic and the backing tracks on my computer (mp3s) and we want to record us over it. what software do i need?

  2. Any program that allows mic hookups (basically all) can let you run a track and add another layer on top (ie, the vocals).

    The programs i use, Acid Pro, Fruity Loops, and Ableton Live and a few others.

    All those are mighty expensive (all together around $1200-1600) but work wonders.

    Go with Acid. Versions dont matter, but the newer, the more flexible the program is and usually, the more user friendly.

    But all you need is a layering program.
     
  3. Adobe Audition or previous versions called Cool Edit Pro.
     
  4. IMO ksr's recordings sound awful sounds like hes whispering in the mic and its all blah.
     
  5. nice one coolrunnings, im downloading :)o) acid pro now so gonna see how it works, i just have a few mp3s with tunes on that we want to MC over and have it sounds good.

    ill let u kno if it works m8 nice 1 :D
