Recording myself and listening while I sleep?

  1. Just wondering if recording myself while reading my textbook and then listening to that recording while I sleep could possibly help me retain that information better?
Also, what do you guys think about listening to stuff while you sleep? Does it have an effect on your conscious mind at all?

  2. well sometimes i fall asleep wile listening to music and when i wake up i have no recollection of the songs that played while i was sleep.

  3. It doesn't work. How about you, y'know, just study?

/e: Just to expand a lil, I looked into it for learning other languages, it doesn't work. Pity really.

  4. I do not remember anything while I sleep, I can not remember what songs were playing if I fall asleep with my iPod or something on.

  5. Oh I see...darn.
Well I do study plenty (literally all day after I get home from classes) but I just was wondering if there was a way to retain extra information that I wouldn't otherwise be able to...perhaps on a subconscious level.
Well at any rate, thanks for the info guys!

  6. i dont know for sure wether u can remember that kinda stuff while ur sleeping but i do know that reading a book outloud instead of just in your head will help you remember it alot

  7. They say studies show that babies and newborns who listen to Bethoven and Bach, while they sleep, end up with less stress.

I honestly dont think so. Then again, I smoke weed, so I need a post it on my ceiling saying "PISS" or I piss myself.

  8. Put the textbook under your pillow; the knowledge will seep into your brain.

  9. If this worked, wouldnt everyone be doing it?

  10. when I fall asleep to music I don't recall the songs I listen to but I randomly come to find I know lyrics word for word on songs that I barely listen to, I can also hear random songs playing in my head but thats just mean

  11. Well, when you're in the R.E.M sleep state your surroundings still play an important role in your dreams even though you're not exactly 'conscious'

For instance - When you're dreaming and you hear someone talking in real time, they will sometimes randomly appear in your dream. Just like when you fall off your bed while dreaming you'll dream of falling off of something, etc.

So, it could help you a little bit but I wouldn't expect much from it.

  12. True. Your subconscious is still awake, so you can talk and shit in your sleep to people. Some people can hold decent conversations when they are dreaming, or asleep.

I would just write important things from you books, on your arm, or inside your hat.

  13. You could master lucid dreaming and study in your dreams :)

  14. All I know is I've had what's being said on the TV being said in my dream by someone else, and it makes no sense at all.
