  1. There's a sticky over in the Big Picture forum for best movies to watch when high. How about a list of best books to read after *seeing the light*? (if there isn't a list already.) Here's a start ...

    Social-Political:
    Brave New World - Huxley
    1984 , Animal Farm - Orwell
    Atlas Shrugged - Ayn Rand
    Fahrenheit 451 - Bradbury
The Name of the Rose, Foucault's Pendulum - Umberto Eco
Ain't Nobody's Business if You Do - McWilliams
Food of the Gods - McKenna
The Emperor Wears No Clothes - Herer
    Ishmael - Daniel Quinn
Philip Dru: Administrator - Edward Mandell House
One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest - Kesey
The Electric Kool-Aid Acid Test - Tom Wolfe
Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas - Thompson
    Catch-22 - Heller
Martin Eden, John Barleycorn - Jack London
Tortilla Flat, Grapes of Wrath - Steinbeck
The Sun Also Rises, For Whom the Bell Tolls - Hemingway
    The Jungle - Sinclair

    Spiritual:
    Siddhartha, Bhagavad Gita, Razor's Edge

  2. whether high or sober, the 48 laws of power, by robert greene. Anyone armed in that knowledge could rule the world if they have the balls and the skills.

  3. Overall a not bad list Mike. A lot of really important books on your list. The single most important book on your list though is probably 1984. It's a huge shame if anyone hasn't read that book... should be mandatory reading in high school.
