  1. Currently listening to these:

    One Day - Seanizzle
    Stay Far - Mavado
    Dancehall Hero - Vybz Kartel
Love Journey - Vybz Kartel & Gaza Slim

Looking for upbeat positive vibes. List them!

  3. Yeah, I wasn't a avid dancehall listener (did grow up with reggae (did grow up with Lucky Dube though. My uncles listen to him and my dad also. My father doesn't smoke weed though but he's like mildly rastafari) till the introduction of mj. Idk... I don't have any rhythm and shit but riddim and dancehall just really mellows me out and thats what I need whenever I'm high coz the smallest shit can fuck up my high. But music man really changes my high.

  5. seen, good vibes really are uplifting. One thing you might wanna check is culture or conscious dancehall which is just a sub-genre of the style; Captain Riddim and a few of the tracks on the other riddims I posted are considered culture. Some times differnt Djs will do different types of dancehall on the same riddim, some of the tracks won't be too positive when other artistes' lyrics will be culture; while sometimes all tracks on one riddim will be culture.

I won't bother bashing Kartel as I usually do in these threads, dun wanna fuck your head if yuh like him lol..

I'll tell yuh some good ways to find new music in dancehall that might come in handy if you don't have too much exposure to it. The way dancehall and reggae works is people are constantly releasing new tracks when a producer comes out with a new riddim unlike other genres of music that survive solely via retail albums. Can go on youtube and search for say, Movado October 2011, or Movado 2k11, etcetc and you'll find all the new tracks that are out there and often other tracks on the same riddim in the related panel. Another good search is Dancehall mix 2011, Culture mix 2011, etc and you'll find the newest mixes from sound systems and Djs.
