Hey guys just finished setting up my grow tent today, all I need now is soil and seeds and I am ready to start! There is so much information that sometimes it can seem overwhelming I was hoping you guys could give me some recommendations for soil. I am using a 4x4 grow tent, with a 600w light and 7 gallon fabric pots. Which soil would you go with? I am hoping it is something I can find locally as well. Thanks!
. buy some that shows veggies on the bag and not flowers . buy a organic kind. pro mix makes a great organic soil its about 7 bucks per 1.5 cubic feet. again as long as it shows veggies on the bag and says potting soil and not garden soil.
Hey man, you should know that different soils are "hotter" than others, meaning they have more nutrients already in them. Plants need higher amounts of nutrients when they are older, but when starting out you want a soil that's not too "hot" as the nutrients will burn the plant. Personally what has worked for me is starting my seeds in rapid rooter starting cubes. Then I will transfer them to Fox farms "happy frog", this is a good soil for young plants it's not too hot. When I'm ready to transplant, I put them in 2gals with Roots Organic, a hotter soil. They finish in 5 gals with Roots Organic. Also worth looking into super soil, which is a really hot soil that's designed to keep the plant fed for it's whole life so you don't have to feed liquid nutrients . P
