Here is another rebuttal. The author listed 4 reasons not to use charcoal to detox. Again, as in my first rebuttal, the author is using crazy reasons to keep people from using charcoal. Just remember, the more information we learn about how charcoal can defeat a UA, the drug labs will fight back. These drug labs invested millions into these tests and are making a huge profit from it and will do everything possible to protect their investments. These labs will even go as far as planting individuals on forums like this one to spread the disinformation. I am going to list the four objection the author listed and then point by point rebuttal it. 1) Activated charcoal will bind with all kinds of things including some of the vitamins, minerals and antioxidants in your food. Charcoal is sometimes added to fruit or vegetable juice and sold as a “shot”. Unfortunately, the vitamins in the fruit and veg probably won’t be absorbed because of the charcoal. You’d be better off just having the juice. 2) Activated charcoal can bind with some medications, including some antidepressants and anti-inflammatory medications, causing them to be less effective. This could have serious health consequences for some people, but it’s not explained on bottles or packaging where activated charcoal is being sold. 3) Activated charcoal will only bind with whatever particles are in your stomach or intestines at the time that you take it. It works by coming into physical contact with your intestinal contents. If you’re trying to use it to detox from the alcohol and kebab you had the night before, it won’t do anything at all because they have been absorbed into your bloodstream already. 4) Activated charcoal slows down your bowel and is known to cause nausea and constipation (and black stools). Activated charcoal doesn't detox the body – four reasons you should avoid it Rebuttals. 1) This is true and something that I have been saying all along. Charcoal will take anything; the wanted and the unwanted equally. I agree with the author taking charcoal with a fruit or vegetable juice isn’t a smart thing to do because the charcoal will take some of the good stuff out and your body won’t benefit from it. When we have a deadline to meet; to have THC-COOH out of the urine by x date; we need to do what needs to be done. Taking charcoal for 7 – 14 days isn’t a problem but taking 30-grams of charcoal everyday all-day would lead to malnutrition. You can’t take charcoal willy-nilly you need a plan; you need to experiment with yourself seeing how much and how often you need charcoal. A light smoker won’t need as much as say a heavy smoker would need. The author reasoning is fine on this point but I can’t see it as a reason not to take charcoal for detoxing. 2) Again, this is true but not a reason not to detox with charcoal. The first point and the second point are truly the same arguments. Charcoal will take the good and the bad away. So, how can you avoid this and still take the meds that you need? Personally, I must take meds for hypertension and diabetes; these meds help keep me healthy and alive. No choice, I must take them; so how do I take my meds and charcoal? In the day, between noon and 4 pm, I don’t take charcoal and take my meds at 2 pm. This way I can take the charcoal without it interfering with my meds. Like I said in the first point this isn’t a reason not to use charcoal. 3) Again, the author is repeating themselves, but this point also shows the author’s ignorance of charcoal. Charcoal will not touch alcohol and a person that repeats this myth is just pulling things off the internet without checking to see if it is true. THC-COOH always returns to the GI tract which adds to the reason why charcoal is so great in detoxing from THC-COOH. 4) The author says charcoal ‘slows down your bowel’ movements which is somewhat true for some people. The answer to that is to drink a lot of water while detoxing with charcoal and this problem shouldn’t happen. Nausea doesn’t happen except in hospitals setting. For example, you overdose on Tylenol and go to the ER, the ER will ram a tube down your throat and dump 100-grams of charcoal directly to the stomach. I would say, yea that would cause nausea and vomiting. Popping a few pills is nothing like that. Then the author repeats themselves again by saying it causes constipation. Isn’t that the same thing as slowing down your bowel movements? The author saved the worst for last; the dreaded black stools. Oh no, not that! Yes, the author is totally correct your poop will turn black! But, so what? Do we play with it or something? You clean yourself as normal; no big deal. So far, I have yet to see a valid argument against charcoal, but I genuinely want to discuss it. I am not an all-knowing person that can see all the angles to this. Part of the reason why I am posting about charcoal so much is to get a discussion about it going. As a group, we can look at charcoal from all the angles. Like I have said, for six years I have looked at beating a UA for MJ use. I don’t care about the other illegal drugs they are looking for; just MJ is all I care about. I have wasted a ton of money on detox products researching them trying to find something that works. They all focus on increasing the volume of urine to dilute it, which can work for some people; the people that have the time to detox and aren’t heavy smokers. There is one product called Toxin Rid 10-Day Detox that focuses on the GI tract. In this detox program, you must take 5-pills an hour for 5-hours for 9 days. These pills are mild laxatives that increase the amount of poop you make. This detox program did work for me but taking laxatives isn’t the route I want to take. Laxatives in of themselves cause problems and should only be taken for a very short period of time. You don’t want to depend on a pill to poop. Another problem with this detox method is the cost of $180 and up. For most of us, $180 is just too much money. Charcoal, on the other hand, is cheap, easy to get and no-one will know why you are taking it. Let’s quickly look at why charcoal works in detoxing from MJ. 1) from experiments we know charcoal can adsorb THC-COOH; the molecule that is used to detect MJ use. 2) we also know that because of the Enterohepatic Recirculation of THC-COOH it always goes back to the GI tract. 3) charcoal will not leave the GI tract and causes no long-term problems. 4) everyone can afford it, and it is found in all drug stores. 5) there is no way of tracing the charcoal unless of course, they check your poop. If this is the first time hearing about charcoal, please, troll my account for more posts about charcoal.
ahh yes, a discount on yet another gimmic product to help the body cleanse are you a frequent charcoal user? how many capsules/mg a day do you ingest?
It is the most effective way to speed up the removal of THC from the body. The problem with drug tests is you are rarely notified ahead of time. This method won't work when it is a random on the site test. This method works well when you are applying for work that you know does a pre-screen. If you look up Professor of Pot he has actual studies that he's done with a control and also 2 people of varying body weights and I believe consumption amounts.
Yes, I am. It depends, on a daily basis I take about 10-grams a day, and while I am detoxing I will take up to 50-grams. It takes me about 3-5 days to detox from the time I quit. I normally toke for two and 1/2 months and take a drug test about every three months. When I do smoke I am a daily smoker, smoking about a gram a day. Now, I am guessing, you are wondering why I take charcoal on a daily basis. Simple really, I am trying to block some of the THC-COOH from entering into the bloodstream. After about half of the year, I am going to recheck my hair in a lab to see if the overall count is lower or even maybe I can pass it. I don't know so I am testing it before I say anything.
I'm not sure why they made that comment it doesn't really make sense. Activated characoal isn't being sold as a THC cleanse. You can buy it for next to nothing at any health store or grocery store
I wouldn't take it on a daily basis like that. Seems like you would be losing a lot of vital nutrients.
Yes, you are totally correct. I work for the government, nothing exciting, in fact, it is boring work but to keep my clearance I am subjugated to random, supervised drug tests. These random tests are in fact not that random at all and I have gotten really good at picking the week we will be tested. My nephew was on probation and he knew every second appointment he had a drug test but they were called 'random drug testing'. Now, if you are taking an unsupervised test which is common for most civilian jobs substitution is the way to go. I will search Professor of Pot for that, thanks for that tip.
ok..... why would you want to stop thc from entering your blood stream? why consume cannabis then? I know a better way that doesn't involve a potential poisoning of yourself..... stop fucking smoking
Thank you for caring, I truly mean that. I am very careful with it. On non-detox days I take them between meals or the time I need to take my meds. The trick is 2 hours before those times and two hours after that I won't take the charcoal. That way I am getting what I need without jeopardy. Now on detox days, I take multivitamins and an electrolyte supplement at 2 pm along with my meds.
Because as I have said, I have taken my hair and had it tested. After about six months, I want to see if I lower that count. I want to see if charcoal will also lower the THC-COOH levels in the hair. As you are well aware of, it is from the blood that the THC-COOH gets placed into the hair, so, if I can lower the amount of THC-COOH in the blood it should also lower the count in my hair. Maybe to a point where it doesn't show up? I don't know; I am checking into it.
Well, I have some issues that MJ takes care of. For me, MJ is about my quality of life. My doctor is aware of what I am doing and why. This hateful attitude yours have makes me wonder about what you are trying to get at? So answer me this, what is wrong with charcoal?
Last time I checked essential oils is something to smell or rub on your skin. How in the world would that clean out THC-COOH from the system? How is charcoal different? Oh, I don't know maybe because there is science behind it? Research has been done on charcoal; show me a paper that shows essential oil can do anything for a UA. Please, keep this serious.
dude, you posted this.... "As for the activated charcoal pills, it turns out that I may have been led astray by the internet. When I reached out to Nicolas Flamand, associate professor of medicine at Université Laval in Québec City, he told me that, basically, they're bunk. "Activated charcoal will remain in your digestive system," Flamand wrote me in an email. "So it will not trap what is inside your body fat. It will mainly trap what is in your digestive tract. Activated charcoal is mainly used to trap alcohol or medications that have been ingested and that are still in your digestive tract." ..... and now have spent the past few hours arguring with the internet as to the reasons why you believe that "Nicolas Flamand, associate professor of medicine at Université Laval in Québec City" is wrong. I have nothing against charcoal, i've cooked some pretty damn good food using it and it helps make really good smoked salmon. I have even had friends lives saved with it because they had been poisioned. but to take it as a dietary suppliment or to take it as to detox your body of THC-COOH .... is a bit of a stretch to me and apparently, the good Professor Flamand. But hey, if it works for you and black turds don't alarm you, giver!
i can find you whatever you need on the internet, i'll find you whatever cherry picked science paper helps prove my point. they're out there. go to google, type in whatever it is you believe and i guarantee you will find whatever you info you need to help you sleep at night. good luck with the charcoal adventures !
ok, i can't believe i have to point this out nothing will change what is in your hair. its dead there is no exchange of anything between your hair and body once it has grown out from your skin stop being so gullible and read a basic science book. not shit on the internet
