    1. Now that you’ve decided to grow your own, what was the tipping point?
    2. Why now?
    3. What strain(s) did you choose and why?
    4. What is your setup?
    5. Indoor or outdoor and why?
    6. Auto or photo?

I chose to attempt a grow indoor because there are so many strains that I want to try, but few possibilities to get those strains.
Growing indoor because that’s my only option in a state where it isn’t legal except to purchase medical in a dispensary.
The dispensaries around me s*ck a$$ and don’t know what the hell they're doing. Street weed has better quality.

I didn’t choose the strain, or whether it would be auto or photo because I was given a clone of Triple Cheese, who’s a photo.
If I had an option I would’ve chosen an auto just because I’m impatient as heck, but I’m learning.
My ‘setup’ if you can call it that is my dining room table, poster board, Mylar, and a light bulb, that isn’t strong enough, due to fire concerns in the very old bldg I live in. Yes, I have a classic ‘Charlie Brown’ tree, but she refuses to die or give up, so I’m not either. She may be tiny, but man does she stink (in a good way)!

I’m not doing this to sell any (thank god because she def won’t produce enough for that), but only for the experience, and it’s been an amazing experience so far.
I’ll post pics of her when it’s all said and done and can handle all of the laughter I’m going to get.

  2. I started growing because it's legal in the state where I live, and I am disgusted by the dispensaries and dispensary system.

More power to you and your Charlie Brown tree. I went into this with that same mindset, and I hope to never lose it. I'm in it for the ride, not the destination.

  3. I started growing because I work for a dispensary as a gardener and their practices and the shit that they let slide is absolutely disgusting.

I'm hoping to soon be able to apply for a commercial license once I'm well and seasoned to share good meds.

  5. You're triggering childhood traumas. You're going to make me cry.

  6. I started growing because of cancer, and after growing my own and doing the Rick Simpson protocol I'm still at stage 0 and levels are down and tumors are shrinking if not gone, all indoor and organic, white widow strain ,photos, and taken in capsules every day. As far has growing goes it gets easier:)

  7. Disgusted by our states MMJ law which has “no leaf,” and gives 3 companies the business. It’s a sham, where almost all real physicians refuse to participate. You can easily buy the MMJ visit though. Another huge money grab.

Yes we can get “recreational “ flower in the next state, but prices are crazy high and the quality is medium, at best.

I’m hoping for change but not seeing it. We’ve already had 2 runs of cancer. I’m not waiting for another.

My options were also limited for meds.

So far, I absolutely love growing. Enough that I’m growing herbs for fit and some veggies, in the veg tent.

I never was a big smoker of weed, but never ever saw any harm in it, except over the criminal stuff forced on everybody. The boomers really should have had this done years ago. Such a shame.

I do hope change is coming. I’m older and don’t give a darn. They can let me be, and I just grow what I smoke, never passing any. Though I’ll encourage if someone wants growing advice. YouTube stuff.

The garden is “always “ a family secret, in states lacking behind, but perhaps it’s meant to be.

Let others smoke shit and pay money that could go to better use.

  8. Preach!
What state do you live in, bruv?

  9. ‘No leaf’ here too and only three dispensaries allowed in state (are we in same state??), and they All s*ck. Sadly the masses don’t care and keep buying their crappy products.

Older here too and never gave a flying.

Glad you’re here and happy growing :)

  10. NY. Cuomo was all dead against it, but then MA, NJ then PA fell to the dreaded medical. Yet the world didn’t fall apart. Everybody here seems to smoke anyway.

The MA went recreational, and ME, nobody cares. Canada has legal everything. Poor border agents.

It’s just stupid leftovers of bad laws targeting everybody that’s not giving there all to the system. From minorities, people that work hard but don’t see massive paychecks, disabled, veterans. It’s bullshit and we know it.

As stated repeatedly, it’s a cure, not a crime! Recreationally, it could be a fine alternative to tobacco, nicotine mist, booze, harder stuff including pills. At least given the chance.

It’s gotta be a lot cheaper than jailing everybody and seeing kids killing each other and the police over a peaceful plant.

Cops know it too. The only ones who are against full legalization are either too old and never tried it, or they fear it taking a buck out of the mainstream economy.

    Again calling bullshit.

But yes, I’ve fallen in love. It’s easy to do. It makes me more peaceful to grow and use especially during crap NE Winters.

The VA should issue seeds and a grow kit to all interested vets. Okay the last part was tongue and cheek, but it would probably help.

  12. I'm in MA and the laws aren't all that hot. Recreational dispensaries are scarce and treat you like a leper because you don't have a card. The card costs $200 a year and you need to go to a shady doctor to get one, as you mentioned. It's a racket. The best thing they did was decriminalize possession and growing. The rest of it strikes me as a way to generate graft.

I am a former New Yorker (Long Island), and I have family and friends still there. I hope the laws get sorted out for all of you.

  13. Dang... $200 for a card? Is that one time or annual?

We pay $54.99 for two years for our cards. Our rec laws aren't shit though. Cant sell rec, only gift it and never inside a store.

  14. ‘Fallen in Love’ Yes! It sounds so stupid, but yeah lol I totally get it.

And I agree, tongue in cheek or not, about giving Vets a starter kit.

Hell, this is so much better than alcohol or being a Big Pharma guinea pig. I figure by the time the next generation is in their 60’s, the US will catch up to other countries. Meanwhile I’ll continue this experiment and experience, because ‘so many strains; so little time.’ lol

  15. I had to pay $175 to see a shrink for literally 5-minutes, and pay PA for registering. I did that the first year and said F ‘em this year. For that amount, I could’ve had a month supply of great weed.

  16. It's about $200 annually, give or take. That includes a doctor's visit and licensing fees. You can claim hardship and get out of those fees, but it's still a racket.

  20. My reason is my state(Florida) has the worst laws. No recreation use, they did decriminalize to a certain extent, under 20 grams misdemeanor any thing over felony. It’s even worst for MMJ card holders as they aren’t even allowed to grow. I’m on my first grow now(day 18). Learning as I go!!!
