Really Small Grow

Discussion in 'First-Time Cannabis Growers' started by Codye23, Aug 28, 2006.

  1. I want to do a really small grow in my closet, Just 1 or maybe 2 plants. I want to be as basic as possible and conserve as much money as possible because I barely have any. I was wondering what is the cheapest way of going with lighting, and what else I need.

    Thank you.

  2. Get a couple of milk crates for support and buy some fluro shop light fixtures from walmart for 7$ each for starters tho they may be too wide but basically, that is the cost. I use them for keeping my Moms. There are alot of people on here who have done great with total Fluro grows, vokal and polski for starters, search for threads started by them. or just search fluro as there are others. Good luck!

  3. I always point people in this direction www.1000bulbs.com/category.php?category=2086 get two 85 watt bulbs for 20 a piece but not the same ones get one 6500K more blue light for vegging and one 3000K red light for flowering use them both at the same time thru vegging and flowering the good thing about getting these bulbs is you can double up for every two plants you ad in the grow room and get the 3000K and 6500K everytime you do add more plants if you are interested in this tell me so I can hook you up with a cheap way to wire em up if not just skip this

P.S 165 watts is enough for two plants maybe three so germ about six seeds

  4. i would go ahead and get the 105w http://www.1000bulbs.com/product.php?product=31295 get 6500k and the 2700k or 3000k whichever they have... they are $22.43 a piece... only $2 more than the 85w and a lot more lumens...

  5. its aight Brazyjay I just started getting into the Spectrum shit too but I dont think the 105 comes in red light only blue red being 3000K or less and blue being anything above 3000K usually around 6500K

  6. oh damn it doesnt come in red spectrum... well i guess he should get the red spectrum 85w and blue spectrum 105w.. and then in flower he could buy a 30-42w red spectrum from walmart or somewhere... smaller watts are cheaper to buy from walmart

  7. I would get one myself but I already got 250 watts of 6500K if it was me in this situation I would get 1 of the 105 watts and three 42 watts from wallmart red spectrum though how much do they cost anyway

  8. 42w from walmart are ~$10 a piece... so around $30... so actually about the same price and u get 1200 more lumens... but the problem with that is light fixtures... ud need a lot... and i dont know if they would fit in his space

  9. i want to grow 4 or 5 plants, and i'm wondering approx. how much wattage of blue and red spectrum i need? what would be the best deal to go with the floro's to keep from having my grow space cluttered up? but if its necessary then could u tell me how to wire them all up? i would like to just get a few big ones and not mess with all the small shit.are the compact floro's or the long tube floro's more effective? also in the compact floro's which is better the u-tube kind, or the spiral? and would i need reflectors for all these or could i just hang them bare into my grow space?thanks for any help...:smoking:

  10. all the answers are right in front of you moke just read as for lights I would get 4 85 watt bulbs 2 being 3000K and 2 being 6500K and to wire them up just go to home depot and purchase 2 cearmic sockets 1.50 a piece and two y shape adapters so you can fit two bulbs in one socket then get two extension cords and rip out the female part you will be left with two wires cut till an inch long or till long enough to wrap around the two screws in the back of the socket what id did I forget oh yeah dont worry about burning youir house down the sockets are rated at 660w you have no problems at all
