really loud crackling?

    i picked up some dank bud the other day - smells awesome, trichomes, nicely trimmed, all that jazz - but once it's lit, it crackles really loudly, sometimes shoots off sparks, and stays lit for a long time. the bud doesn't have any seeds and i removed the stems so i have no idea what's wrong. could it be that it wasn't flushed properly and there are still nutrients left? in that case, should i continue to smoke it or is it dangerous? it gets me high as fuck and it's rare to run into such dank bud in my town so it'd be a shame to have to throw it out. :( so any ideas as to what's wrong and whether or not i should continue to smoke it?

    i think it ashes black, but i honestly don't remember; i was already pretty high when i went to smoke the crackling bud so i didn't pay attention to the ash.
