Real Sticky Buds Technique or Strain

Discussion in 'First Time Marijuana Growers' started by duckybone, Jun 3, 2009.

  1. You ever get real sticky buds that make your hands sticky from holding it? Is that caused from the technique or curing process or is it just the strain? Thanks

The sticky stuff you are referring to is a collection of capitate stalk trichomes that develop on the buds as well as some leaves. This is where the mind-bending THC is in it's highest concentration. They can be seen under magnification below.

The amount of this sticky resin will vary from strain to strain and even plant to plant in the same garden. The way a plant is grown, harvested, dried and cured has a signficant effect on how many trichomes are produced and remain on the buds. Collect these trichomes(also called resin heads) and press them together to make hash.
