Real music resides underground

  1. ever notice how the untalented, sellouts make it big and the real artists are struggling to get their name out there. name one well known artist thats still alive and better than immortal technique...go ahead

  2. yea i didn't think so

  3. You waited 12 minutes before deciding you win? :p

"Better than Immortal Technique" is pretty damn subjective. I could name plenty of well known artists that I like better than Immortal Technique.

Are they "better" than him? Depends on who you ask.

  4. Black Thought, Nas, Slug, Big Boi, Andre 3000, Mos Def, Talib Kweli, Lupe, All of Wu-Tang, MF Doom

  5. just going to give you some feedback, you are being a bit extreme. Immortal Technique is NOT underground BY ANY MEANS and there are plenty of other famous people with talent. simply because you do not like other musicians does not give you the right to discredit their capabilities.

  6. Immortal Technique is alright but definitely not the best. Honestly I think he's played out.

  7. maybe i shouldn't have said better. probably shouldn't have posted this. I'm just kinda pissed that so many people listen to music that is made just to make money rather than the guy who is actually putting time and hard work into it. mainstream music has gone to the shitter

  8. I can hear all music just fine. So it must all be real. Right?

  9. o this thread

  10. Man, I hear your sentiments for sure but look at it this way.

Just look at the time period we are in. We have the INTERNETS! :p

This is something previous generations did not have for discovering new and great music.

Can you imagine trying to find cool, 'underground' bands before the internet existed? Your choices were probably pretty limited.

Guaranteed there are more people listening to underground music now than there has ever been before. :smoking:

Of course there will always be people who only listen to what the radio tells them is "cool" to listen to. But who cares about those people? ;)

  11. yea good point.

  12. Now that I think of it Lil Wayne is better than pretty much any underground artist I know. He's the best.

  13.

  14. Good music has nothing to do with album sales or publicity.

    Nothing.

  15. true, but you barely ever see good music and a shit ton of album sales. not like it use to be

  16. Dude seriously.

  17. troll

  18. Yeah you are. I'm tryin' to be serious with you and you roll your eyes at me? I don't care if you're Christopher Walken.

  19. aye, you're talkin to me all wrong. it's the wrong tone. You do it again, i'll stab you in the face with a soldering iron

  20. I obviously don't listen to the type of music the OP does, I didn't even know the name of the band, rapper whatever it was you said. BUT I listen to tons of music, been collecting it for over 35yrs now. I used to listen to mainstream stuff and think i was listening to the best the music world had to offer, and i found out in my late 20's I was so wrong. I've heard some of the best guitar players live in local bars...and in my living room, my most fav music artists are independents...indies, these songwriters and singers aren't in music for the money that's to be made, but for the shear pleasure of writing music and performing to ppl who want to hear it and the feeling they get from that.

Radio, MTV, VH1, whatever the hell else there is on tv with freakin videos, is ALL a bizness for managers and record labels...they market music to the masses, not very often about talent, but about how you look, what's in and popular, so much crap goes on in recording studios, just to help some of these ppl begin to sound good enuff to sell, not much raw talent inside of very many of the ppl you hear on the radio. Show me how many of these artists you hear on MTV or radio are even around 25yrs later entertaining the masses, they get old, they get dropped and it's on to the next young person they can sell to the masses.
