ready to harvest?

Discussion in 'Growing Marijuana Outdoors' started by Thebadguy, Sep 20, 2007.

  1. i checked my plants today an this one is doin great, but almost all the hairs have changed on it? id say 60 to 70 % of the hairs are amber red. none of the others are like that. is it time to pick that one? it could be a diffrnt strain from the others.

  2. Get a magnifying glass or small microscope and look at the trichomes all over the buds. Most folks harvest when the trichs turn cloudy and some are amber. Other's wait until most of the trichs are amber, but I heard that at that point the thc has broken down into CBD and CBN resulting in a sedative effect.

  3. is that the crystal on them? that i should check or the hair?

Yes check the crystals(tricombs), there on the bud and leaf. The hairs can mislead a grower, they are not a good indicator on plant maturity, go by the tricombs(spelling). Like the other person said, go and get your self a microscope thats able to view 30X, 60X or 100X. Personally I find 30X works the best.:smoke:

    Peace and good luck.
