readers, writers and books

  1. Are there any readers/writers here? I don't necessarily mean published writers. Someone who keeps a jpurnals or composes poetry on the sly is a writer. Is reading part of your recreational lives? I notice fora for music and films but not books.

If you are a reader, what are you reading?

  2. Yup, you could say im a reader and a writer. Right now im reading Confessions of an Economic Hitman and a couple zen training books.

I also write porn fan fiction.

  3. i'm reading the fuck up by andrew something.
    it's amusing.
i keep a journal, i just write down whatever shit ive been thinking lately. but i havent actually written in a while.. i got lazy. now i just write down ideas on whatever paper i have. just writing stuff down is really important.

  4. I do some writing here and there. Nothin published. I think The Artist's Corner is where people normally post poetry and fictional stories.

I've considered writing something here but....ehhh

    we'll see. :smoking:

Oh yeah, and I'm currently reading Revolt In 2100 by Robert A. Heinlein.

  5. Full Melt who are your fan fictions about?

  6. Not really reading much right now but 1984 is one of my favorite books.

  7. I'm both a reader and a writer. Right now I'm reading, "How Barack Obama Won, A State-By-State Guide to the Historic 2008 Presidential Election," by Chuck Todd and Sheldon Gawiser.

  8. I spent most of the summer reading Donald Westlake and his grim alter ego Richard Stark. The Stark books are great, hardboiled tales of a professional thief named Parker.
Lately I'm reading Michael Chabon's Amazing Adventures of Kavalier and Clay, a story very loosely inspired by the creation of Superman and the evolution of comics in America. Dennis Cooper's Ugly Man was a recent pleasure.

  9. i am a reader and writer (not published)

i recently finished Scar Tissue by Anthony Kiedis which was a fantastic book i highly recommend it

I have writing material that i have posted but haven't got much recognition, so im still working on it and hopefully someday i will actually get payed to write

  10. I'm also in the process of reading that book. Pretty good one. I'm also reading Guns, Germs, and Steel. Just started so not sure how good it is. So far it's really interesting. Chuck Palahniuk and Bukowski are two of my favorite writers.

  11. i read and somtimes ill try writing but i havent written anything in a really long time. i just finished the exorcist by william peter blatty, a wicked good read. i jsut started 1984.
