Read Before Boarding: LAX “Updates” Weed Policy

  1. I don't see myself boarding a flight out of LA but get these little news feeds and thought i would share for any interested... bottom line is you don't need to stash your shit in a trash can in the airport restrooms... lol

Given that a simple can of shaving cream can earn you a pat-down by handsy Transportation Security Administration (TSA) agents, it came as hugely welcome news that Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) travelers can carry marijuana throughout the 3,500-acre facility — and even board flights with their stash.

Word of the policy spread through social media like wildfire Sept. 26, 2018, causing some to heap praise and some to throw skepticism. A Reddit post announcing that “LAX now allows passengers to travel with marijuana under California’s Proposition 64” was posted the same day, and received more than 8,000 votes and 1,000 comments in less than 48 hours. Los Angeles cultivators Jungle Boys posted a screenshot of LAX’s policy page on Instagram and received nearly 20,000 likes.

This may come as somewhat of a surprise to some, but LAX has allowed travellers to carry marijuana since January 2018. That’s nearly a whole year, folks.

  2. Right on. Not only can you board a flight at LAX with weed, as long as you're travelling to a legal state, you're good to go at both airports. BTW, the same stricture regarding travelling with weed applies to all major airports in California and Seattle SEA-TAC at least, but probably most airports in legal states.* I wouldn't be surprised if TSA agents posted this because they got tired of patting down people with stash cans and explaining that all they were doing was making extra work for everyone. lol

*Disclaimer about all 'legal states:' You have to make sure county and local ordinances also allow it. Also, be sure the airport is not on federal property. Cannabis on federal property = federal crime, not state. Caveat est!

  3. Wow. Hard to believe that the baggage handlers aren't screaming bloody murder -- they ought to be!

  4. The union is but eventually it will be up to the courts to decide.

Air Canada is owned by the federal gov't that is making rec pot 'legal' so WTF?

All the legal providers on the books now are run by ex-politicos/cops that a few years ago were were tossing us in jail for pot.

Anyone but me see some collusion/payoffs/dicsucking to tie up Canada's re-legalization/Prohibition 2.0 so the elites get all the gravy?

Please tell me it ain't so!

  5. More insanity at it's finest... left hand right hand syndrome but the right just doesn't give a shit what the left thinks and wants... although this is about Denver i saw a headline that it applies to TSA in LA as well but didn't read the article... so i would err on the side of caution if ever flying in or out of LAX...

LAX allows pot in airport but TSA says it’s still a crime
In Colorado it is still illegal to bring pot into Denver International Airport.
