I just looked up some friends on myspace so I thought I would share their story. I’m about to introduce you to the most inspirational people I know. I would like to introduce the Valones (sp). JahSon, Janna, Zek, Sash money, Malachi, and Sheba Don’t know that I spelled the names right but.. what ever. So we live in a sleepy surf town in NE Florida. Rastafarian culture is thick here. Well any way back to the Family. JahSon is a spiritual man of many words and lyrics his queen Janna is a mother with much grace. Their children are well behaved and respectful. They live by the book and Rastafari is their guide. They are dreads to nth degree. They live simple and have no space for the common ways or materials of Babylon. They lived in a modest duplex where they have raised and schooled their youth for as long as I have known them. JahSon built a half pipe in his back yard years ago. He and his boys rip on the half. They were simple people with a plan. They had a plan to leave Babylonfar behind. J and Janna met in Costa many years ago and vowed to return with a family someday. Well that day came on September 14 2006. They have been planning their return to the simple life for the last two years. They saved money (mad props to Janna for spreading the love of Ganja on the beach) bought miscellaneous items that J thought would be necessary to set up in Costa. He bought a chain saw a generator… and made plans to ship his jeep to Costa. Then on that faithful day the got on the bird and when the plane landed in San José they began a new life of simple living, working hard and surfing. Its funny because we can do that here but they knew with out the trappings of Babylon you were looked upon as a failure. In Costa you are either rich or poor, no middle class, and virtually no way to change your status. So it’s easy to fit in, you can be poor just like everyone else. You don’t have to worry about people judging you against the social norm. Well any way my whole point is these people opened me up to a whole new prospective years ago and I’m just now starting to let go of a lot of things I thought I wanted. Its funny we are programmed to buy into this society and we have to get cretin things to feel competitive, we have huge car payments we become credit card rich until it weighs on our soul and all for what? We want to be something we aren’t. Here’s the link to their myspace account you should check them out. They are missed by many here. http://www.myspace.com/rastafam One love.
