Yo... Basically I make beats, I don't really care for people selling beats (when most the time, they're pretty awful), if you rap and need instrumentals, dig some of mine, lets collaborate! I mean I don't really know if my stuff is actually any good, you know? If you dig it, fair let's get on it! I'm trying to get an EP out in the next 6 months, of all different rappers on various instrumentals of mine and if any of you wanna be part of it, it'd be sick. Some links below if you feel em, drop me a message on here, or soundcloud... These are two I've produced, DIY stuff and I don't really like the second one (everyone hates their own voice though innit) https://soundcloud.com/woon-slice/kenzington-quicker-bars-prod https://soundcloud.com/woon-slice/quicker-few-feat-jaxx and just instrumentals, chill stuff.... https://soundcloud.com/woon-slice/chill-enough https://soundcloud.com/woon-slice/jekzauk https://soundcloud.com/woon-slice/the-pharoah https://soundcloud.com/woon-slice/serenade https://soundcloud.com/woon-slice/this-is https://soundcloud.com/woon-slice/days-and-nights https://soundcloud.com/woon-slice/that-one-thats-like oh and ps... mods if this is in the wrong place, feel free to move it or whatever...
sound mate... the first was just a mate throwing some bars on it while we were smashed and the other, was some pretty scatty microphone troubles... cheers though bro
I'm really feeling some of those beats. I don't have a rap name but I'll write a 16 to one of the beats.
That's sound mate, I'm down for anything Be honest mate, I'm not massively a huge fan of this style of rapping, lay low and true story were alright though.
Yeeess, finally some cats inspired by the old school.Idk what Nickatina is talking about, I think your a dope producer.Especially liked your range of sounds, every beat is unique, just waiting for that missing link (a rapper) to get her story out.My favorite beat out of all has to be "The Pharaoh", real nice work with your melodies dude.I can help you out with this project.I'm a Korean American rapper by the name of "Qwaint", hopefully my american accent won't be a problem.I mainly spit creative shit, my tracks revolve mostly around punchlines, wordplay, etc.. though I also make tracks with messages. I also do conscious shit.I'll hit you up witta pm tomorrow, its getting late here (1:45 AM).I also make beats under "Phonix" so I have the ability to mix/master vocals well.~1996 Jiggawattz~
For some reason when I listened to chill enough, it brought this out of me: http://forum.grasscity.com/musician-u/552121-post-your-verse.html/page-585 The subject doesn't match the beat but it is what it is.
Give me some constructive criticism on this. http://soundcloud.com/colin-lockhart/tanne-hebert-go-2-sleep Sent from my iPhone using Grasscity Forum
Wow man. I'm really feeling the production on your stuff! Awesome work. Just curious, where do you normally sample audio for your tracks? I've been trying to incorporate some chilled sampled into my tracks.
Yooo i dig your beats for sure and i like your uk sound for sure i followed u on sound cloud my names nbcrew if you wanna get on somthin im down i could use some beats for sure too. Shits awesome man keep up the good work Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Grasscity Forum mobile app
Lol you commented on a rap forum, not that i dont like slapin the bass lol but you'd probably have better luck trying to find an instrument or band forum. Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Grasscity Forum mobile app
Shit ya know i really didn't think about it but your right everyone is going digital anymore. That sucks man i hope u find some people to play with its hard to find a good bassists. Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Grasscity Forum mobile app
How are you making these? Assuming you're sampling? Are you using FL Studio or different software? Details would be appreciated! I've been really wanting to start making music lately. It's been in the back of my mind for 4-5 years now and I never went through with it. I think a lot of it was fear of lack of support from friends and family. But I don't really give a shit now lol. Chill Enough is pretty dope so is Merry Clayton. I'm thinking about writing some shit and giving my first few batches of songs a try and I might give some of your stuff a shot. I've never recorded vocals or produced anything so this is all very new to me. I don't expect to make anything of it, if anything I found a new fun hobby.
You got a cage vibe about you man, I kinda feel you're playing a bit too heavily on the whole "fuck everyone" sorta vibe though, you got a rap voice though... If that's honest and constructive enough for you, don't think I'm dissing you by the way, it's as constructive as I can give you. Lots and lots of digging man, if you want a chill vibes I highly recommend 70s soul and r&b, 80s is a bit too synth bass based, for my taste anyway.... Dig through jazz as well mate, the start may not blow you away but due to improvisation in a lot of it, there's some gold inbetween the 5 minute trumpet solos... Software... Just slicex on FL Studio... Sound man, sorry for the bare late reply... I got your follow a while back, message me on soundcloud if you want a quicker response though... I dig bassists man, I still play myself.... Yeah man, sampling a lot of it, looking to start using breaks instead of pack drums, using FL studio as well... Geeeez 4-5 years? at the end of the day man, if you wanna do it, just do it, fuck what anyone thinks, as long as you enjoy yourself while doing it... Have you got a microphone?
All I've got microphone wise is a shitty little $10 Audio-Technica one. I realize I'll probably want to invest in something better if I get more serious about it but I'll probably just stick with that for now.
It's probably worth investing in something better yeah, I mean if through something like that the audio won't be... very good... at all... I mean one thing, if you do ever want to collab is just do a youtube video spitting over one of the beats. I'm pretty much still in the beginner stage of making beats and producing, it's just about honing the craft though isn't it? Can't skip straight to the thrones without doing the rounds in the bedroom sessions.... In reality, rapping, you won't fully see improvement in yourself a few years down the line, the guys I hang around with, we were all fucking awful at first. Drunk freestyle cyphers about fucking mums and birds is how it begins, if you truly want to improve you just write, you'll end up repeating yourself in a different way, probably repeat cliche lines, it's natural. Don't be disheartened though. Oh... and I can't stress, freestyling is just as important as writing, it's comparable to playing guitar really... You maybe able to create beautiful songs if you sit down, have a think, the process but I find it essential to be able to improvise a solo... Sorry the big ass ramble...
