Rant: Cheap vaporizers???

Discussion in 'Vaporizers' started by RWK Nova, Jan 27, 2010.

  1. What I don't get is why do people hate on cheap vaporizers and go out too extreme costs buying expensive 500$,200$ vaporizers when you can get one for 45$ shipped with a free grinder? I mean it does the same job it gets you high with a small amount of weed effectively and healthier, than smoking? So why do people still buy vaporizers that cost 460$ more, I mean you know how much herb i could buy for 460$. ALOT or better yet buy supplies to grow... Alot of marijuana with.I mean i do see why people would want to spend money on an expensive one, Quality, more faster, just because they want to buy something really nice too smoke out off,and there are a couple more, but the point is a regular cheap does good for me i mean i can just go turn on my vape set it at 380-420 and put a little bit weed in the ect. I mean a little bit like barley at all enough for maybe one bowl hit. and leave for 20 min. go do something else come back and sit down and just take a couple hits i average 6 before i start feeling a really good high or almost not getting anything vapor wise. But it starts hitting me at the second hit and keeps me high for a nice 2+ hours. So why do people buy really expensive vaporizers?

It's all about the heating element to me.
I know that vapor brothers makes a good mineral based heating element.
I don't trust the cheap vapes on ebay.
My first vape was a $60 one from ebay and it didn't last the night. It tasted like crap!!
I went out and paid $180 for a vapor brothers 2 with the new mineral heating element and I have been completely satisfied with it.

So satisfied, sometimes, that I say that you shouldn't buy those cheap vaporizers. That it's a waste of money. It was for me.

But it's your choice to buy what you want. If you are satisfied with your $45 vaporizer, that's great!

  3. My VB hands-free ran about 160 bucks...I've saved more than that in weed. Vaping uses less, gets you more, and you still have the spent herb to use in edibles.:hello:

I may get a volcano some day, but am very satisfied with the VB unit I have for now.:smoke:

  4. cball that's exactly what mine does exept for 45$ and on top of that i didnt have to buy a grinder so that adds on to at least 10-100$ some people spend for their grinders.and i haven't spent 160$ on my vape plus the weed i bought and its lasted me with havering it.

  5. The 2 main problems with the cheap vapes are 1)they usually can't keep a constant temperature and can burn the bud because of that and 2) the heating element could be made of some pretty harmful shit you could be inhaling. Like others have said I own a vaporbros which has an all mineral ceramic heating element that is 100% safe which was worth the extra 100 to me but if you like yours, more power to you.

  6. heating element and QUALITY. I paid $500 for my volcano, and i KNOW i got my moneys worth.

  7. Because cheap vaporizers are most of the time inaccurate, the temperature fluctuates so much that most of the time you end up basically smoking instead of vaporizing (It gets so hot it turns into a smoke).

Also there are speculations that the china made cheap vaporizers could have lead screens on the heating element.

And I agree with you that buying a volcano for $700 is ridiculous, but you're making it seem like all high quality vaporizers are that expensive, which obviously is false.

  8. I love my $80 dollar ebay vape. Works great

  9. You can spend as little as 55 to 90 bucks and get a great vape with a full lifetime warranty without resorting to buying those cheap ass Chinese knock-offs on Ebay.

  10. The deciding factor for me is accuracy of the heating element/thermometer. Volcano can garauntee accuracy within three or four degrees Fahrenheit. No other vape that I've heard of can offer that kind of quality.

If I had the money I would drop $700+ on the digital Volcano without thinking twice.

  11. What kind of vaporizer do you have and can you buy them at headshops? Im looking for a cheap vape to but can only buy at headshops

  12. Although volcanos are very high quality vapes, there is no doubt that they are WAY overpriced. You can buy an Extreme for half the price, and it does all the same functions as the volcano, works just as well, and even comes with a REMOTE!
7th floor products like Da Buddha and the silver surfer are also high quality vapes for affordable prices, but they have different features. You have to RESEARCH all the different vapes because there are so many, and they all excel at different things.

  13. Many bigger headshops carry vaporizers. They all differ in what they carry though. I usually see just generic box vaporizers, but it saddens me because there are far better vape designs out there.

  14. I'd rather stay away from shittily made products. I saw TokinGLX chuck a fucking DBV on a football field, and hit it with a hammer, and it still worked.

Also, some use toxic glues that can cause lung problems.

  15. I am very happy with my Volcano and don't regret spending the money at all. It would much rather save up and spend a lot on something nice then just go buy some shitty thing off Ebay that might break in a couple weeks. With the Volcano I have a three year warranty, with a trustworthy company.

  16. well now that i am informed about the heating unit and stuff im starting to get convinced im thinking about now selling my old vape for more than i bought it and buying a vaporbros, and a magic flight box so i can take with me anywhere.

  17. Great choices, Nova. :hello: VB at home and the LB when on the road.

  18. Glad you came to the light!

  19. im probably gonna try to buy the MFB vape first while keeping my chinese vape but use my flight box more sense i can use it in my room with no smell ,ect.
