Random super harsh hits?

    So i've notice that around every 30-50 tokes I get one super harsh hit out of a bong that is not normal.  It burns the fuck out of my lungs and makes my teeth hurt. WTF is this has anyone ever experienced it? What causes it? I'm not talking about harsh hits every time because often the next hit or the hit before it will be normal. I am also really used to this bong and have put a lot of mileage through it so I know how it hits.
