Rain Covering

  1. Well I'm going to plant from germinated seeds here in a few days, the problem is that the weather changes so much and theres no knowing when its going to rain or not. Anyway I have to plant straight outside, can't start them off indoors, is there anything I could put over the plants while they grow so that the rain doesn't demolish them while they are young? I was thinking like a 2 liter with some holes in it, but not enough to let the plant get flooded.

  2. bump, anyone?

  3. Use saran wrap. It's a good idea to do that anyway. Makes a moisture Dome basically.

  4. Also 2 liter soda tops will work if u cut them off and put them in the gorund overyour sprout.

U can take take the cap off to let em get somme air .

  5. Yea cut the bottom out of a 2 or 3 liter bottle, take the cap off, and just put it rite on top of your seedling. You prolly don't even need to poke any holes in the bottle because it needs to be nice and humid in there.

  6. You'll have to check on the plants often to make sure the leaves are flat against the side of the plastic bottle. The leaf could rot if left to soak for too long.

  7. Checking the plants isn't really a problem, so that should be fine, its just that I can't start indoors so they have to start outdoors and the rain would be a big problem, but looks like I've found the solution until they grow a little.
