  1. Well who here has done it? How did you quit? Cold turkey, patch, gum..? I'm trying to quit.. I haven't had one since Thursday afternoon, and it's now Saturday.. I'm not like a huge smoker or anything so it Shouldn't be that hard... I hope.. I read that bananas [can] help get rid of the nicotine withdrawals.. this true?

Sry this isn't weed related.. well it can be.. who here smokes cigs and weed? And what do you think is worse for your lungs etc.

  2. Quit nearly four years ago. Believe me it's the best thing you can do for
yourself. I quit cold turkey, but I did it on a trip to Australia so I had a lot of
distractions. That's the key, do stuff to keep your mind off smoking. Like
every time you get a craving take a hit of the greens instead. Or just leave
the house without any cigs on you and go do interesting things. Don't know
about the banana thing. And yeah tobacco is way worse for you than weed.
After about two or three weeks you're on the downside of it and it gets
    easier.

  3. Just remember, when your body tells you to have a cigarette because you mind tells you "it's not a big deal", don't listen! That's the addiction talking.

  4. 90% of smokers quit cold turkey. It has the highest success rate. That's how I quit and I didn't find it too hard. Whenever you really want a cig, if thats the case, just think about then next time you're gonna blaze. It also helps to smoke a lot of joints cause they are like cigs. Just tell yourself you can satisfy your entire need to smoke with weed. it worked for me.

  5. The way that I quit smokeign cigs is by smoking more weed. This may be hard if you dont have lots of money for weed all the times.

  6. lol yeah that's what i've been doing (since thursday..) and it does seem to work.. it's like you totally forget you're a smoker..hah..but it seems like i fiend most when i'm burnt out after a sesh

  7. my way of quiting is not starting :D the first time i tried it it was nasty as hell so i never piked up another 1

  8. lol.. good for you, don't start... i know everyone says this..but it's soooooooooo pointless to smoke.

  9. It's not exactly pointless but it's definately not worth it. :smoking:

  10. Okay I'm tired of all these mothers saying how bad cigs are, which they are but just like any other substance you need to stay in control, if you feel like it is starting to become a habit quit for a month just to see what you body does. Personally I think they're great for a quick stress reliever, you get a quick buzz for 10 min and you can go back to work or into the party or whatever, they are a quick, and legal, friend that will help you through a tough day, just don't abuse it and you'll be fine, but since you're quitting which means you have already abused your pal, all I can offer is how my dad quit, any time you have a craving take like five altoids or any other strong as hell mint that burns your tongue when you suck on 'em, it may not be all that confortable but it'll get you mind off cigs, and you'll have fresh breath for all of the lovely ladies. Peace

  11. The fiending gets me right after a session too man! It's like I feel like I need something in my hand to smoke. This good friend of mine has the same problem so we were thinking that she should switch from cigs to salvia. Like every time she craves a cig just burn down a bowl of salvia. For me though, I'm not a smoker. Don't get me wrong though because I LOVE CIGARETTES...I may not buy them anymore but if you have them, please believe I'm going to bum one and enjoy it damnit.

  12. Ok let me tell you a wierd thing about me. I bought 5 packs of cigs a month ago because I was going to substitute that for weed until I can smoke weed again. I smoke 2-3 cigs a day and have finished all the packs. I never once felt like I still wanted to smoke or feel any type of addiction. I havent smoked cigaretted in 4 days and have had no cravings for them. Wierd huh?

  13. That's kind of how I feel. I don't have major cravings when I don't have a cigarette. I usually only have 2-3 a day, too, so maybe that's not developing an addiction?

  14. unfortunatley i was under the same impression and i found out that actually weed has 50% more carcinogens than tobaccy, BUT thats not ciggy tobaccy, so i'd bet that that statistic would be flipflopped and then some.

  15. Fuck... I thought I wasn't addicted until a year ago when I decided to quit and only get about a month before I gave upa and smoked. I've since quit on and off, sometimes for a month and sometimes for a few weeks... but I get drunk, or I smoke a lot of bud, and my body's like, "Time to light one up there." And I'm not pleased to say I've turned 3 other people into regular smokers too. I hope Karma doesn't decide to bite me in the ass.

  16. My step dad quit years back when my mom and him got married and he chewed on alot of tooth picks.. he did his cold turkey also...

Does anyone around you smoke? I have a friend who tried quitting, and was at it for a couple months, but their roommate smoked like a chimney, and eventually they took it up again... It's hard to quit if you're around smoke constantly.

  17. ^^Yeah I know, ALL my friends smoke:( lol it sucks..but I don't know, I think I can quit this time for good.

  18. I don't really see a benefit to smoking.
