This may seem like an odd question, but is it possible to grow some good bud in a simple pot and some soil on a window sill which gets a good amount of sunlight, and just watering it?
..its possible...gonna need a fair few good'n'hot hours each day tho...if your seedlings 'stretch' it means their not gettin enough sunlight (repot them, burying them in the soil right up to the first set of leaves)...when you've got the 'veg' growth you want it'll be time to 12/12 'em (12 hrs dark then 12 hours light)...they'll then start to flower...good luck.
