i need clarification, as long as there are 2-3 nodes above it, can I pretty much 'top' any side shoot? heres a bad picture, the red marks the spot where I cut to top and where two shoots will come out of that. and if im right, can i also top those new shoots? and so on and so on
Yes, you can top all the branches. Repeatedly, until flower starts. Edit: just cut the new growth at the top. There is a sticky in the plant training section.
thanks man. i know the top location, as i've done it once before. I'm just wondering how to make like 10 tops. And when I cut those, I leave a bit of room from the last node? like i'd cut exactly where the red line is, and two shoots come out from there?
Yea. But I would do that at the last node. leaves more leaves for photosynthesis. Try lst with topping.
I would leave a few weeks new growth before topping the same branch. Top 1/2" - 3/4" above next node level.
Yes you can but your striping the plant of its energy source and making it provide for more and more growth sites so the plant's growth will slow. I would let it grow big so you have a big root ball and high reserves of energy before you strip it back. It will recover quicker
