Quick Question on Growing

Discussion in 'General' started by Ragtopjohnny, Oct 30, 2014.

  1. Hello all!

I'm ner here so not sure if this is the right place to "Plant" this post.

I was going to be starting to grow my own medication shortly, and my mom has a real green thumb.

She was going to be helping me and was wondering if we have to put any gravel or styrofoam on the bottom of the 5 gallon jugs before we fill it with soil like regular plants do?

Thanks in advance, and looking forward to learning all I can here with this forum!

  2. Treat then like tomatoe plants and you won't go far wrong mate

Hardy plants can take a bit trial and error
Best of luck. If your mum is good with plants you will be fine

    Thank you!  I appreciate it.

I'm no kid by any means, but you need the help where you need the help!  LOL.  :)

Any tips?   Watering advice, etc?  That would be awesome.  :) :smoke:

  4. theres a huge grow section to these forums.. probably get alot more help there. gravel at the bottom would be good for drainage but as long as your using real pots you shouldnt have to and as for watering you want the soil to dry out pretty good. not to a point where they are starting to wilt but enough so that the top couple inches of soil is dry.. good luck with the grow, it is very rewarding  :smoking:

  5. I always preferred to use stone or gravel in the bottom of the pot, but I don't think it makes much difference.
