im a newb and i just got a question about cfls i know i use soft white for veg (6500k) could you flower a plant under that or do i need a warm white (2700k), if so would a wide spectrum grow light substatute for the warm white?
no the plant lights don't work, you need the 2700k for flower. Look around on the site and definitely use the search option. There's a lot of talk about cfl's.. lots
You can still flower a plant under soft whites. It just won't give the type of spectrum you want for increasing bud. Still you can do it.
Bright whites for veg, warm whites or a mix of both for flower, read, read and read some more, there a lot of CFL and every other light type threads here, try em out. Good luck
