quick HPS question... 1000HPS

    I have a 1000 watt HPS bulb and was wondering if i could buy a 400HPS ballast and run it with the bulb? would anything happen? or not a good idea?

    match the bulb wattage with the ballast wattage, otherwise you will damage the bulb and ballast, or start a fire... :(

    Can you do it the other way around? Say run a 150w bulb in a 400w ballast?

    That wouldn't be good. Just making planes for the future and was looking for the best bang for my money. But not that kind of bang!!

    I just bought a 1000 MH conversion bulb. ITS SO BRIGHT! Now I still have the HPS lights and im not gonna use them.
