Hey guys. Im a dumbass and I forgot the deficincy that causes the leaves to curl up. Its not A N deficiency and it doesnt look like a claw. Just the opposite. I found this random plant early in veg on my property. I transplanted it in my ffof soil and I have not added nutes. I stated doing a lst method from a sticky here on the site. Could you guys help me put? Edit: maybe a mag def? edit 2: those older leaves that look burned were burned buy my cfls, not caused byy the def.
No deficiency causes leaf cupping. When it happens at the top of the plants like with yours, it's usually heat stress from the lights. The necrotic leaf tips are probably either from Phosphorus deficiency or underwatering. Underwatering would contribute to the cupping.
It might be the heat. The soil has been drying up a lot but I've been watching it good so I don't think under watering. What's your opinion on the best way to treat a phos def? Ill raise the lights a little too.
The best way to get the plants Phosphorus immediately is to use high-P Bat or Seabird Guano, and/or Bone meal made into a tea. The next best way that also requires less work is to use a pre-made, liquid, organic tea fertilizer like those from Fox Farms or other companies. These are frequently teas made from the same quality organics that growers make teas from. They're just not as fresh and may contain preservatives.
I have general hydroponics flora series nutes. the npk on my florabloom bottle is 0-5-4. It's thhe highest phos levels. Would adding a little bit of that to some waterings help?
Imho, never "add a little bit" of fertilizer. Start with a full sized dose as listed in the mixing instructions on the bottle. Vegging pot plants can handle a good amount of food without problems, and they'll use at least twice as much during flowering. Always watch the pod leaves & first single-bladed leaves (with seed plants, watch the oldest leaves on clones) for signs of nutrient burn after trying out a new fertilizer. These oldest leaves will first show burn on their tips, usually a few days after feeding. Increase the concentration slowly each feeding, until you find how much causes burn on your plants. Always alternate feedings with plain waterings. This feeding every other time is for maximum growth. Plants you just want to keep alive don't need to be fed so often.
If you have another fertilizer to mix with it that has some Nitrogen, use some of that as well. Depending on how much useable N there is in the soil, feeding the plants everything but Nitrogen would be setting them up for N deficiency in the near future.
This certain nutes have a good feeding schedual created by a fellow blade I think. Its called the lucas formula. Its has goood results its basicly one feeding for veg and one for bloom and it has the perfect amount of npk for veg and for bloom. So iwill do a full dose of some good nitro and phos and water it with that every other water. Glad I caught it early thnls for the help man
