hello blades ive been blazing for a good while a few people close to me have grown and i think its an endeavor im ready to take on. im trying to amass some decent equipment because even if i fail horribly the first time, i plan to continue to do this for a while. i have some questions regarding set up and materials, any feedback is appreciated -would an oreck air purifier be beneficial in a growspace, would it act like a carbon filter? -should i buy 2 different fixtures specifically meant for MH/HPS lights or are the bulbs interchangable in one fixture. i understand this might seem like a pretty elementary question but imagine if you didnt know lol thanks
Hi.. 1) While I have not tried using an Oreck air purifier, I don't think that it will meet your needs for removing the odor. When I needed odor control, the charcoal filters and 6" inline fans that I used were fairly substantial. While the fixtures are the same, the ballast is the consideration. Many digital ballast can run either HPS and MH lamps. The older (and cheaper) magnetic ballasts are usually either HPS or MH. What I do is use HPS ballasts and then run MH conversion bulbs during flowering. These MH bulbs are designed to be used in HPS balllasts. Good Luck!
