I have only grown one other photo which wasn’t successful compared to my indoor grows with autos. Too fluffy. My Platinum OG plant is on day 95 of veg. I’m switching to flower by putting it outside. It is almost three feet tall so I figure it could go up to six feet. So here are my questions: 1. Does anyone have a pic of a plant they let veg for as long? 2. I need to build some type of fence around my plant because my dog likes to eat my plants. Any suggestions on making a cheap dog free zone? 3. My plant is in a five gallon fabric pot and I already have to water every other day. I know fabric pots are supposed to air prune but what should I do? Should I try to transplant by cutting the fabric, maybe seven gallon, or just water every day? Thank you for any advice!
Friend of mine vegged these inside longer than that but kept chopping the top 4' of them off. This was a couple weeks after they were moved outside. As you can see, they got rather large.
These are 2 feet at setout and most reach 5-7 feet at harvest. 10 week veg and 10 week flower is my off season sets. On season I get an extra 60 days of Veg time. This is end of Summer. I killed the lights the next day and started flower. If your already watering every day they are going to be way dry in flower. Cut the fabric pots off (you can try folding it down and off). Do as little root damage as possible. Plant in 15 gallon party tubs or direct in ground. Pick up a square of concrete reinforcing wire and make a round tube of it. It should wind up 3 feet across and 5 feet tall. Opening are 2x4 inches and you can reach in but your dogs face won't fit. BNW
Thank you!! That’s so much easier and more simple than what I’ve googled. I don’t think I could handle a 15 gallon pot though.
What do you mean you couldnt handle it? The bigger the pot, the more forgiving it is. Some were 25-30 gallon the biggest one was 50 i think. All he did was water them and threw a few handfuls of fertilizer on them. They were about 10 foot tall.
You can control the size of the plant. Just take branches off. You want a big, healthy root system. Weed typically grows "to fast for its own good" and if you slow it down properly it gives the plant time to build up a really strong root system. You can top the same branch several times leaving only one node on the branch. Each time you do it it slows the branch down by about a week. Indoors you never get high winds so you dont really need a strong plant- the best strains requiring a lot of support because they cant hold themselves up. I always look at growing as "I would rather have to remove some of the plant than wish it was bigger."
I actually have trimmed branches when defoliating, along with a lot of leaves. I also lollipopped. I supercropped every branch as they’ve grown so the branches are still pliable. I don’t want a huge plant but I’m excited to see how big it gets. It’s about three feet so I’m guessing it’ll be at least six feet. Biggest plant by far. It may be a six month plant. I think it should be done in March.
