*Questions about humidifier water*

Discussion in 'Hydroponic Growing' started by HydroGrowz, Mar 23, 2016.

  1. Hello, I'm on day 9 and all seems to be going well but Ive noticed something... Little white powder-like residue on my hydroton. I've read this could be salt? My question is though, does my humidifier water need to sit for 24 hours? Does the pH need to be balanced in the humidifier? So far I've had no problems not doing these things so I'm leaning towards "if it's not broke, don't fix it" but I don't want problems down the road.... Any help is greatly appreciated! Here she is, day 8... 20160323_100324-1.jpg And you can see the white residue that I mentioned, on the hydroton.

  2. Very interesting information. Thank you.

  3. My humidifier is a cold water type and has an ultraviolet light to kill bacteria etc. I have never worried bout ph in it or letting it sit.
I get white on my hydroton like your pic and am pretty sure it's salt from nutes and I don't worry bout it either
