Okay so its my first time growing, but ive read alot of shit for years now. And i am aware that if you find bud FULL of seeds, it was most likely a hermie plant, thus the seeds are hermie to. But not in my case, I planted very late in the season (july) and pretty much planted it in dirt. My plant is 100% female and looking extremely healthy, well in my opinion its about its first week of flower and things are looking great! I also have another plant, planted at the same time, it is much smaller though and came from the same bud, it is also a female. The bud was medical, from cali, so i was wondering was it really a hermie plant? Or was it pollinated by a male plant? the seeds were a nice dark green color some with black lines. Oh and the plant appears to be Really Sativa!
They could of force hermied it. (when I did that I only got 30 seeds from 3 plants total) It most likely was a female that was pollinated. (due to amount of seeds) This part "it was most likely a hermie plant, thus the seeds are hermie to." is totally wrong. A plant can have genetic trait of hermaphrodatism but that doesnt mean you will get it. All of my seeds from a hermie plant have been female. I havent had a male pop up in my garden for years, all of it originally bag seed that I hermied for more seeds.
hermies are kind of a "last chance at life" thing for most gardens... alot of times if you have a huge garden 20+ plants in one spot, you'll get some hermies in the mix, even if all seeds are "feminized." it's just life's way of surviving through the rough (no males present) good thing is those seeds, will usually be some good shit successful backbreed (take that line, and then pick good phenos from it (some will have the herm tendency, pick the ones that don't if your going for bag appeal grow..shit leave em if you don't mind picking a few seeds (i treat seeds like currency hehe...good to have around)
True, but as genetic replicas of the original plant, if the strain had a predisposition to flipping due to stress, the bagseed grow will have the same issues And I really doubt it was intentionally hermied, nobody selling weed would want their crop less potent/seedy. Musta gone wrong and they sold it anyways... and if a grower couldn't keep it female, you may have a hard time. That said, I have 4 bagseed females now (2 in flower, 2 in veg) on an experiment/test run for my closet, so we'll see how they do.
Well thanks for all the insight guys, learn something new everyday! So does my plant look to be a hermie or not? and hows it looking so far? Its my first grow so im not to sure thanks!
