question to experienced hydro growers

  1. please reference this thread:

    http://forum.grasscity.com/absolute-beginners/839962-should-i-cut-these-roots.html

as well as the last pic of the journal thread in my sig for pictures.

i have 1 female plant that I'm taking care of much better than when I started as I eliminated all environmental stress factors. for this reason, the bottom of my net pot has about 1.5-2 ft of roots that are about the circumference of about a quarter. these roots were affected by algae issues early on and either a bushmaster overdose or minor root rot before h2o2 treated.

I know have 3-4 inches of white, healthy root growth coming from all directions of the bottom of the net pot (please see pics). should I be clipping the colored roots off?

I have a small issue where my PH is rising fairly quickly, I'm wondering if this is from dead root material in my res.
