Question to anyone who's ever been in prison/jail

Discussion in 'General' started by Caution43449, Jun 7, 2009.

  1. Do prisons/jails allow/prescribe drugs such as pain killers or stuff like xanax/valium?

I googled and kept coming up with a book called pain killers and other non-sense

  2. Never been to prison, but I imagine if you were takin it when you got there they can't just take you off your meds. They would however hold that shit hostage and only give you your required dose so you can't sell it.

  3. no they do not give anything narcotic or anything worth a damn.. dunno though somehow shit gets though or it comes up.. If your planning on going just have money on your books and you'll be good!

  4. Yeah. I was in jail for failure to appear and I was only in there for twelve hours, but I have anxiety issues. So, they let me take my xanax when I was perscribed to.

  5. It depends. Some jails won't give inmates their medications until they can independently confirm that the prescription is legit, which can take as long as the guards want it to take.

If you're there for a prolonged period, though, you should be able to arrange to be given your medication.

  6. Well.. I'm not prescribed to anything so I wouldn't know. But you can always buy drugs off other inmates.. last time I was booked I smoked a joint from an empty cigarette..

  7. i spent 10 years in the texas department od corrections, and the only pain pills ya ass is gonna get is generic asprins, none of the good shit
i did smoke alot of weed durning my time with the state
