Question regarding my medical card

Discussion in 'Medical Cannabis: Treatments & Patient Experiences' started by radswimer, May 15, 2011.

  1. Hey so I recently got my medical card , but I dont seem to use it since I got it because I was having very severe insomnia for 4 months before I got it. When I turned 18 I knew it would be helpful for me to finally be able to sleep again, so I can start to do my school work again, and just have a normal life. Cause honestly having no sleep really started to ruin my life. The problem is when I went in to talk to the doctor he told me it wont effect my life at all, and I told him I am just interested in having my card to help me until hopefully the time comes when I can sleep without medication. Well the time has come and I stopped smoking for now, but of course now i am finding out that I cannot have a government job? How come I wasn't told beforehand that for the rest of my life I will never be able to get any job I want just because I simply used medical cannabis to help me get my life back on track... Is there anything I can do that will allow me to be able to get any job I want back.

  4. hmmm weednotcrack, I read the article, so is this passed yet? Does this mean that having my medical card until it expires in a year it will never hurt me from getting any job anywhere in california? I dont plan on re-newing it though when my year runs up

  5. Senate Bill 129 hasn't been voted on by the Senate yet. We have to wait until the Senate votes for it to see if it passes.

  6. uhhhhhh...Who told you that crap?

NOBODY has to hire (or retain) you if you fail their pre-employment (random employee) drug test

If you stopped toking, and apply, pass the drug test, you can have a government job...;)

jeeez...local/county/state/fed jobs are full of convicted 'ex' pot smokers...even 'ex'methheads get hired.
