Hello, My name is Scott, I was wondering if someone could please explain to me why Mai Tai strain is a cross of Maui Waui and Tutti Frutti both very well known sativa strains, yet on multiple site reviews they say it is a indica dominant hybrid that leaves you lazy? That makes no sense and it makes me believe a lot of labeling strains these days is pure BS.. Same go's for shops, I have had complete opposite effects of strains claiming to be what they are supposed to be.. Thanks for feedback in advance.
Because simply put people make things up, and there is too many different growers, strains etc which just helps further add to the misinformation. Since weed became a culture thing there's always been a bunch of people who don't know much about weed other then it's gets them high just repeating the same thing they heard. You would be crazy to think strain labeling these days isn't bullshit. I missed when weed was just swag, mid, beasters, loud
Amen Brother! Just bugged the shit out me with this one big time because of the obvious fuck up in its advertising so I had to make a thread, Thanks man!
Aloha Blue Mai Tai is an indica/sativa variety from Aloha Embassy and can be cultivated indoors (where the plants will need a flowering time of ±49 days), outdoors and in the greenhouse. Aloha Embassys Aloha Blue Mai Tai is a THC dominant variety and is/was never available as feminized seeds. Lineage: Mai Tai x Jungle Cake: Spiked Mai Tai is a unknown variety from Jungle Boys Mai Tai is the encounter between the famous Gorilla Glue #4 elite clone and Purple Punch. Gorilla Glue #4 cutting by Joesy Whales (GGStrains): (Sour Dubb x Chem Sister) x Chocolate Diesel is the undisputed champion of a multitude of cannabis cups. from Philosopher Seeds The Mai Tai strain is a tropical strain that likely gets its sweet and tangy terpene profile from crossing Maui Waui with Tutti Frutti. However, there is some debate over this strain’s genetics as some claim it to be the cross between Sunset Sherbet and Purple Punch. from Clearwater Genetics Sterquiliniis Seeds Miami Vice x Sterquiliniis Seeds California Dreams: from Sterquiliniis Seed Supply. SeedFinder - not listed don't touch it IMO
Thank you, The one I am referring to is on a popular site were it specifically says it is crossed with the the 2 Sativa's, then it says its a Indica hybrid that makes you lazy, Very insulting in my opinion for them to do this!
Grow your own, using seeds from REPUTABLE breeders/seed banks. I've never had an issue with breeders misleading me, nor have I had an issue with my favorite seed broker (north atlantic seed company out of maine). Caveat Emptor.
Thanks, I don't have the time right now to care for them like I would need to, I was just curious if I was the only one that has been noticing this.
But I think it would be a good idea to start a strain of cannabis Indica. Pure Indica. 100% and with as much THC as possible, for major pain control. Like right after surgery, pain control level. I worked in a hospital for 8 years and pain control is a top priority. The higher up on the pain scale, the higher your blood pressure goes. And I have seen it at astronomical heights. I don't know how many times the nurses sent me back to get other readings because I reported high readings. Makes me want to slap the nurses because I know they are late passing pain meds. I'm reading a book on the different strains and the most THC I have seen is 25%. I would like to see "Hospital-grade" THC levels. One pharmacy company already has two synthetic THC pills on the market for cancer patients. That's the problem I have with it, Synthetic. I want natural THC in the form of buds. Kentucky is fixing to go legal on medical cannabis and the hospital there has already made a rule that cannabis is not to be consumed on hospital grounds, and patients can't consume it if they are admitted even if they had a doctor's order for it. That sux!
Oh, you are my brother-in-arms! When the hospital built a new on in a flood plane and in earthquake country, the builders made the hospital earthquake-proof. But they didn't improve the hospital food any! I was talking to someone that worked in the lab and we both agreed that the new "Healthy" menu sucked and we were flipping off the security cameras in the hall! LOL
What site are you using for reference? I've heard of another Maeo Thai that sounds familiar (as a parent of Golden Tiger).
Both maui waui and tutti fruity are not pure sativa strains, there is indica in there as well. When breeding Mai Tai the breeders may have chosen a pheno exhibiting more of the indica traits.
That is my whole point to this thread tho, There is never a straight answer no matter what strain you look up, thats why I say people are just making shit up.
There does feel like some sort of creative license with named strains; the Golden Tiger I mentioned is now at its third incarnation with different parents claimed at each stage.
It's all a scam. Grow some dank LOOKING weed. Design some sleek packaging for it and give it a vetted strain name. This bagged name brand weed thing just started like 10 years ago
My entire presence here has been a vociferous repudiation of named strains and the (perceived) hollowness of their claims of superiority. With Ganja having existed on Earth since before the machinations of the Human race, I've always felt that the intrinsic genetic code for the stickiest of icky lies in all weed. This stand has softened a bit over the years as my efforts rarely rise to the shine of those I shadow and desperately try to emulate. However, If I had the opportunity to work with any of the show ponies I could be convinced I'm a paper tiger.
