Getting ready harvest my 2nd grow. 2 Carmelicious plants. I am exactly on the 89th day since I went to 12/12. 1 of the plants is starting to show amber trichs, and the other is mostly couldy. Im worried because most of the fan leaves have been consumed by the plant and fallen off or are mostly yellow. 1 of the plants has such a fat cola on the top that its starting to fall over from being top heavy so I had to prop it up My question is I went to cut them yesterday and I saw some flowers that almost looked like immature or preflowers. (white pistols sticking out of several of the buds) Im thinking this is because ive added another light in my tent and the light is penetration is better. Should I chop them now? I could use the space for some incoming plants for flower but dont want to sacrafice more bud by chopping early. Ill post some pics later if it helps
thanks ill have them up at around 7pm pacific time tonight when I get home. If I do chop them I need to do it tonight since I won't have time again for a while
also when your fan leaves start to fall off and yellow up mean,s your close to harvest or ready to chop her down. post sum pics like i said and i will tell u if she,s ready bud
89th day of flower sounds like a lot. Generally I go 60-70 and there are very few strains that need more than that. They look good for harvest to me.
Its probably really only like 75 days of flower since I saw the first signs at about 12-14 days into 12/12. It exactly 89 days from the first start of 12/12. This is only my 2nd grow technically, so I don't have much to do on except what I read. Like you said, most strains seems to take 60-70 but i've seen some that can take as much as 12 weeks of flowering? Wonder if this is one? I can't find much info. on the strain im growing I chopped the top cola on my big girl last night because it was becoming so stop heavy that it was just bending all the way over. I got tired of tying it up to a stick to keep it upright. Im going to let the rest of the plant go for at least another week.
There are very long flowering strains, but they are very rare as most people don't want to wait that long. Do you know anything about the strain you are growing or is it just random bag seed? 75 days from 12/12 switch is pretty much the max i have ever done and I like a slightly overdone nug. Your cola harvesting is a good strategy, I've had good results giving the undergrowth an extra week to 10 days.
I wouldn't really call it a strategy but its nice to know I did something that a seasoned grow has had good results with even if it kinda was by accident
You buds look good so for a first grow it looks like you did a few things right. I looked at your earlier posts again and noticed that you mentioned all the fan leaves are yellowed and gone and some male looking flowers starting to appear, both those are indicators of either a stressed or finished plant. Based on you pics I'd say more finished than stressed.
This is actually my 2nd grow with my 3rd and 4th right behind it. Im putting my plants in veg and flower rooms on a cycle so ill have a constant harvest about every 6-8 weeks. Most of the fan leaves have yellowed and gone and what I mentioned in regards to flowering is that I was starting to see some new white pistol type hairs that almost looked like new preflowering. I think that I also made a mistake by having my light to close to the plants for several weeks and I think thats what caused some of the leaves to die. I don't have this problem on my current grow so I just think it was heat stress
The new white pistol looking stuff could have beein coming from your lights being to close also. The heat spots right under the light can cause the nugs to get what you described, it kind of looks like new growth but its just stressed growth.
