  1. Hey gang,

I need some input for my setup and my potential plan moving forward.
    Currently I'm running:
    Tent: 6.5 x 6.5 x 6.5
Grow: 6 x 5 gallon buckets set up for undercurrent bubblers w/ large pot and clay pellets. SCROG grow w/ 4ft2 per plant
    Lights: 4 x 1000w LED (from research, estimated actual pull btw 150w - 200w)
    Fan: 200 cfm
My plan is to replicate this set up when this first grow goes into flower, and simply move them over to the flowering tent. I'll pull cuttings from my best girls right before I flip, and veg those. So, basically plants move from veg in Tent #1 to flower in tent #2. My questions are this, do I A) have enough watts to cover my canopy area in both tents? And B), will I need a bigger tent for the flowering tent, as I'm expecting the girls to double in size from the veg tent? Growing in this style isn't new to me, but LEDs are. Thanks a ton!

  2. What is the manufacturer and model of your lights?
If you are using Chinese blurples, you will need approximately 1800 - 2000 actual watts for that size tent.

  3. You will definitely be short on lights. If you can return them do it and research quantum board LEDs. Specifically the qb96elite. With a little DIY and the search function on GC, you can be up and running for about $1/watt. And you’ll need about 1,600 watts of high end LEDs to properly flower that space

  4. So, should I be aiming for tent area or actual grow space?

  5. I went with the MARS HYDRO TS 1000W Led Grow Light. I've currently got 4 of them. I honestly looked into building boards, and can definitely do that. It just seemed like a lot of trouble. Now I'm realizing I probably should've gone that route.

  6. Yeah, those lights only pull 150 watts - you would need 10 of them for your space.
    Good luck.

  7. 150 watts i would of said 1 light per plant but the foot print may be vary small . why not pass on these lights buy something better for the money ?

  8. Well I let my wallet overrule my head on this one. I calculated my wattage needs based on sqft needed for the plants only. What I'm thinking now is to use these lights for the veg phase and then step up my lights to what's suggested above for the flowering tent. I may add in one more 1000W onto my current set up to try and cover my needs during veg. Adding another light would put me at 5 total, and an estimated 750W total. I just don't think I can get my money back on the ones I have at this point..... So I'm completely ignoring Sunken Cost Fallacy now, lol.

Would 750W cover my needs during veg? Or, should wattage be equal for veg and flowering stages.

  9. $1600 for 1600 Watts of LEDs fo a 6x6 space?

What is the point of using LEDs again?
Sounds like too many watts and too many dollars to me..

  10. What would you suggest?

  11. all depends on the foot print of the light . these led have zero side lighting . \. meaning the plant will only grow if its directly under the light . yes there will be some side lighting but it will grow very slowly .
you will be required to put these light directly next to each other inch away and plants directly under it . do you understand ? ok it depends how big your vegging . will say your total of 6.5 foot height in that tent and you require 1 foot of space from light . a plant will stretch 2.5 times the size of veg so 5.5 foot total per plant finished height . meaning that veg height is just under 2 foot tall . yes these led will be plenty to get it at that height but again next to each other . lot of lights . if cash is tight just hit your local hardware store buy some of these .
they grow well use hardly any power. will say buy 6 of these and 1 fixture total price will be about 80 bucks . no ballasts required . these will totally flood your veg room and grow your plants to any height required . i uses these for my mother plants they are 8 foot tall . when you buy the bulbs get the 5000k or higher . do not be tricked they dont say grow bulbs . trust a guy that uses these they are very good . better then t5. do not buy the bulbs that you can actually see the led in side there junk. or those led grow bulbs that retro fit the t5 are trash . these bulbs are very good

  12. use supplementery cfls
