Question on drying

Discussion in 'Harvesting and Processing Marijuana' started by Lukeskywalker23, Mar 15, 2019.

  1. Anyone have any ideas on how to dry a finished plant outside?
My girl said there is no way in hell that I'm bringing anything in the house to dry, her damn sister and mother is always coming over and always snooping #1
#2 we live in a bad state for ganja.
So how the heck does .A man dry his shit outside without mold hammering it and screwing up all the hard work?
    Any advice would be appreciated

  2. Damn women! My Mrs is the same! :) - You haven't got a shed?
Well, while cannabis can be dried outdoors, it is not actually recommended. This is for a couple of reasons. First, once your cannabis has been harvested, the THC content held within will rapidly degrade when exposed to light. This means if you dry your cannabis where the sun can get to it, the potency of your bud is going to take a huge hit. Secondly, it is near impossible to control drying conditions outdoors. If the weather is too hot and dry, it can cause your cannabis to dry out too quickly, leaving behind excess chlorophyll and sugar, which in turn will make it taste bitter. If it is wet and humid, it could cause mould. The best way to dry cannabis is in a cool, dark place that you can control. This allows the cannabis to dry out slowly, without any direct light or heat interfering. You can also add in an oscillating fan to the drying area. This will help keep air moving, reducing the likelihood of mould – just make sure it doesn’t directly blow onto the cannabis. In roughly 10-14 days, the cannabis should be dry enough to begin the curing process.

  3. Tuank you kind sir but sadly the sheds we have get a inside temperature of about a 110 inside when it's hot..not to mention we have neighbors on all sides of us who are within about 60 yards of our sheds..our neighbors are fucking snitches who call the law for something as dumb as someone sitting in their vehicle on our road for more than 5 minutes..all are church goers and bad news

  4. What a fucking pain.....

  6. I feel so bad for you, man. Maybe ask a friend whom you can trust if you could dry your buds at his/her place. But that's the best advice I can give...

  7. Good advice mate

  8. You can always try a fermented cure. I was in the same boat as you last year...no controlled conditions to dry and cure my harvest. This style is a crop-saver for those in hot conditions. Look for Malawi Style Cob Curing. There is a link in my sig to a thread I started here on GC.

  9. Do you have a small dorm type refrigerator?

If that sounds like an option to you look for the thread "low-and-slow".

  10. Thanks ..I think I'm gonna go the brown bag route...after all ive researched on it...it sounds like a great idea..

  11. Thank you...

  12. Turn all that into BHO and skip the dry/cure process!! I would be hella worried about someone smelling/reporting an outside dry. I have a 2x4x5 tent I converted into a dry tent. If you have garage space, get you a tent and carbon filter. The ladies will never know!

  13. DONT HAVE A GARAGE..SORRY, I THINK ILL TRY THE BROWN PAPER BAG METHOD AND SEE HOW IT GOES

  14. Happy to help you

  15. Sounds like its time to start thinking about moving. Shiiit
