hi everyone! I have five 10 day seedlings under a 400 Watt MH light in a closet. I have the light about 24" away and they seem to be doing well. I have them in MG which I have learned is not the best but can work. anyway, if I don 't water my plants everyday, they start wilting. Trying to not over water, I waited again last night but this morning three plants were wilted over the jiffy pot. This is the second time this happens and they usually spring back up in a few hours. I do have them in 3" jiffy pots and was wondering if I should plant them in 3 gallons now since i'm having to water everyday?? I guess there are several ways to do this but some people say not to have them under a MH light this early and some say it's ok. Am I on the right track?? These are all females so I want to do them right! thanks, lilpeppa.
Hard to help without pics. Sounds like overwatering how much are you watering them? Everyday is to often unless your giving a very, very small amount. Not giving them nutrients right? Do yourself a favor and dump the miracle grow for one thing, for another give them time to let the roots grow out before transplanting. How do you know they're female are they feminized?
actually i've been doing some research for my own grow and it may be the jiffy peat that comes with the jiffy pots. peat moss holds a ton of moisture in and can contribute to root rot so you'll need to add something to the peat moss to help drain. i used perlite. unfortunately, i got MG products and later found out it had time release nutrients in it . gl and keep us posted
hi. I am on the road right now so i can't do pics. I have been watering with a squirt bottle of water that has been purified and in the sun for a few days. I was only giving a little water so i don't think it was over watering. when I stuck my finger down in the soil it was dry as far as I could feel. No nuts right now. these were feminized seeds from a well knows bank. also, I realize that MG is not the best. What do you suggest I use instead? maybe something from a Lowes or something?? I was originally looking for something simple but i may need to re-think?? thanks, peppa
