Question about water current and roots - DWC

  1. I've looked around on the internet but couldn't find anything on this. This is my first post here, hope I'm doing it right.

So my water pump creates a lot more bubbles than my air pump when I shoot the water back down into the reservoir via a few little holes I made in a blocked off PVC pipe.
My question is, is too much current bad for roots? When the roots start to grow down into the stronger part of the current, should I switch to my air pump/stones or will they be ok?
The tiny streams of water are slightly angled so the PVC pipe doesn't have to be right under the net pots and the stream pressure makes it about 5 inches below the surface before the bubbles start coming up. The bubbles come up right below where the net pots are going. Thanks for the help.
