The scar in the hand that Quaid had, did he really get that in his life working for the factory making synthetic police men, or did he really get that when he was holding on to Jessica Biel's hand and got shot? Good movie btw just a little confusing, like when he was at Rekall when things went wrong, had he already been in his fantasy? because he was already hooked up etc.. then he seemed to have the ability to kick all the cops a$$ when they stormed in.

That's the point. The rekall never actually went through. They really did yank the cord before it happened, therefore all of the events after were real. Meaning that the scar on his hand was from getting shot while holding her hand.
I was pleasantly surprised at what a good film this turned out to be. I'm not a fan of remakes, by any stretch, but I gotta say this spins a better yarn than the 80's version with Arnie. Yes, that's what actually happened. There's a brief shot that establishes their matching real-life hand-scars, later on.
1990. Though I guess it was shot in the very late 80's. Really enjoyed the remake. Though it's art design clearly took more than a few pages out of Mass Effect and Tron: Legacy's books.

Dredd was the best remake ever Total recall was a joke, it can't be a remake if he never "got his ass to mars" And it was a dream, not a sequence of real events.....ftw
