Question about Timers.....

Discussion in 'First Time Marijuana Growers' started by uneek, Sep 10, 2012.

  1. Do you guys have your fans setup on timers? or do u just keep them running all the time? or do u keep them on only when the lights are on?

  2. I have my light on the same timer as my fan - But only because my grow room would get too cold if the fan would be running with lights off.

  3. I have 5 fans going, intake, exhaust, and 3 fans to help with movement and keeping room temps down, when light off, I keep exhaust on and 1 occilating fan on,

  4. Yah i should have been more specific. What i meant was, my 2, 4" inline fans, and my oscillating fan should always be running? as long as my lights are on? or should my oscillating fan run 24,7? and my Inlines shut off at night? im confused about this part.

  5. I keep my inline for ventilation on all the time with my carbon scrubber. I have a second inline for my 1k watt lamp which comes on 15 minutes before my lamp and turns off 15 minutes after.

Plants need fresh air all the time so ventilation is a must.

  6. I only shut off my inline because my exhaust still pulls fresh air in, In fact its power full enough to make the blades on my intake to rotate, so that is why I turn off my intake, njam, you might actually find if you keep a fan running it may keep the temp up a it rather than knocking it off.

  7. I leave my exhaust puller fan (35w) and my mini rotating fan on, helps keep my humidity <60 and rustles the leaves

  8. I have a variable fan speed switch when its lights out fan goes to low. I guess I could leave if off but never have.

  9. I have a teeny desk fan on the same timer as my light. It blows between the light ant the canopy. But I have a 440CFM fan reduced with a Dial adapter running at all times.

  10. thank you all for your response i kinda got a better idea now.

  11. ok so at night time when they are sleeping, if the temperatures are right, i could leave the exhaust fans off? or u just never turn them off?

  12. i have nine fans total in my room. you want to keep your carbon on at all times. you want to keep circulation fans going at all times. the only fans you should really be shutting down with timers are the exhaust fans. i keep my exhaust and carbon separate so i can shut down the air running through my tubes. the more those fans run.. the dirtier my tubes get inside.

a lot of it also depends on where you are getting your air from and where it is exiting. if the exhaust fans are taking air out of your house... they definitely need to be shut down. because they are adding a lot of extra work to your hvac. hence the reasoning behind separating your carbon from your exhaust.

hope this helps and doesnt confuse you further.

  13. I leave all fans on at all times, including the exhaust because I have passive intakes and the air doesn't get pulled in otherwise. The scrubber obviously too so the house doesn't start smelling.
