Question about the water

Discussion in 'Hydroponic Growing' started by Sinuzzx, Aug 30, 2012.

  1. Can i use regular tap water with the needed nutrients added into it?
And what is the purpose of the pump? To pump the water to the top of the rocks near the stem ?
If anyone can link me to a website where I can learn basically everything I need to know about hydro grow

  2. Yes u can use tap water but it has to sit in a wide-mouth container for 24 hours to let the chlorine out. And the pump pumps air to the roots system.

  3. Okay one more thing What Is the best solution/nutrients, to mix with the water?
Is there something i can buy at a local store to add into the clean tap water?

  4. Check your PPM's of your tap water. If its over 100 its probably not good as far as I know

  5. just to give a heads up, there are two types of pumps

    air pumps have been covered

there are also water pumps...and yes, some systems have water pumped to the top of the medium, "drip" style
