Hey there! I have a beautiful lady growing outdoor and it's an auto flower. It sprouted on JUNE 12 and she's literally almost done I think... I didn't do anything special with her, just put the seed in soil a 5 gallon pot and water it when necessary. She only has about 10% of coverage with red pistols and when I use a 60x jewelers loupe to examine the trichomes there are already a few amber trichs, but most are still somewhat clear... I'm trying to go for the 80% milky, but don't want to over shoot the timing and have all ambers all of a sudden. My question is, should I continue to let her flower a bit more and hope I don't wait too long, or chop her down now? I've heard that you really need to pay attention to the trichs over how many red pistols are there, but I could have sworn I also read it will be about 70% red pistols when the perfect time is. I just don't want to go too far watching the hairs, and the trichs go all amber. Thanks for your time and help!

  2. The other thing is I cannot tell if the trichomes are milky yet. They seem pretty clear, but it's so damn hard to get so close and be still enough to really tell.

  3. It's not even close to being done, the buds haven't even swollen yet, you got another 4 weeks probably at least. Just my opinion

  6. Look at your last picture, when she is ready that will be one big solid bud if you have the patience to let her do her thing and you will be glad you did.good luck and happy growing.

Oh snap! I'm a dummy. It sprouted on June 12, not July 12! My bad! She is 49 days old from sprout. I changed the original post to represent that. Does that change any of your answers? Or still wait the 4-5 weeks? Again, thank you so much for your help. This is my first plant ever.

  9. Well they veg about 30 days usually, so she has been flowering for 19 days almost three weeks. Even though it's a auto it still takes 8 weeks for buds to mature most of the time.

  10. Thank you all! I appreciate it! Next time I grow one I'm going to top the plant and try to do LST. I'll also try out specific growing methods (correct soil/nutes) I'm such a nub when it comes to this. Obviously a yield would be WAY more if doing all that. I just wanted to experiment for my first plant. Hope I did alright. ☺️

  11. For your first plant being a auto you did pretty good. A lot of new growers with auto's end up with one about 5 inches tall because of over watering and giving to much love to them. Just let it go another 5 weeks and I think it will surprise you.

  12. Well, I did do a lot of research on growing before starting this plant, but I wanted to try it with just the soil and water, and see what happens. I follow the guidelines y'all have set here on when and how to water, and what to look out for when inspecting the plant daily. When I do my next grow, I feel like I will be a little more knowledgeable and ready to try a recommended medium, nutes, LST, and such. Y'all are a great and helpful community!

  14. You did say June

  15. In the original post I said July, and I corrected it. No worries!

  16. You did pretty good. I remember not even being able to get a sprout or not plant in good sun or wanting to smoke so topping all the time no recovery or anything. Of course I was 13 and none of this knowledge existed in my life lol but anyway you ok man. Good luck
