Question about Thc syrups

Discussion in 'Marijuana Consumption Q&A' started by Chase424, Aug 9, 2023.

  1. I have a watermelon runtz strain syrup and use it sublingualy(under the tongue).I hold it there for about 2 minutes then swallow.I notice the effects take very SLOWLY to build up.I know they say that syrups take about 30 minutes to hit than the traditional edible, but for me it takes LONGER.Say about an hour and a half before I feel a significant climb.

Is it my digestion?Or am I taking it wrong?Don’t get me wrong the high is THERE but not quite as quick acting as i’d like and takes awhile .Could it be the dosage I’m taking is too small?I take just around 25 of 1 ml of the dropper.

  2. The only thing that works quickly sublingual is an alcohol tincture. Syrups will just take longer. If the high is enough eventually, don't take more, just plan for the longer onset. Good luck.

  3. don't think i have seen alcohol as an ingredient on any tincture.:confused_2:
onset takes longer for me on tincture.

try swallowing it without doing under the tongue,it's different.

  4. I make syrup all the time and what I make cannot be used for buccal absorption
My experience has been that the sugar carrier takes effect about 30-45 minutes after consumption
Do you know approximately how many mg in a ml of your syrup?

  5. Ty for your reply!I just read the label and it said about 9.49 mg of thc per serving .

  6. Ty all!Trying your suggestions !

  7. That seems to be the standard
For buccal absorption I'm guessing you need very high mg as most of the syrup will mix with saliva and you will swallow
Tincture is best for oral absorption and a drop of flavored syrup mixed in can ease the pain
I'm on the fence about this method due to the efficiency

Using my syrup for flavored sodas and cocktails

I would look into tincture but be aware of the high proof ethanol
    Burn baby burn

Yeah I heard it’s more of a PURE edible effect by just swallowing it.I think it’s just the cautiousness in me that keeps me from just swallowing it whole knowing how I might respond lol..Anyway,after about 3 hours I laid down and was ready to go to bed and then BAM it all hit like a big wave at once!Looks like it DID go the edible route but just took longer. Not gonna say it was uncomfortable but I definitely FELT it.Wow

  9. you swallow THC it converts to 11 hydroxy THC in the liver.
11 hydroxy THC is as much as 3 times as potent.
