So, I live in NEPA, and I have my seeds in a dresser in my storage unit. Temps haven't gotten to freezing yet, probably in the 50's or so. Now my question is, if I leave them in storage will they freeze and die? Should I grab them out of the storage unit and put with my clothes at my sister's house or can I leave them there and they still be viable when I am able to use them?
Freezing is actually the preferred method for long term storage. Vacuum sealed is best and stored with a moisture absorbent pouch is even better. Freeze and thaw cycles may make a minute number of seeds inviable, but it is overall a solid way to keep them for a long time. For shorter time (up to a year or so), you can just keep them in an airtight container at room temp. Again, some kind of desiccant in the container is a plus.
Thanks for the reply, they're still in the packs and the metal tin that attitude sent them in. just gonna leave them be for now then.
