Question about reflector using HPS/MH off same ballast.

    Hi all,

    I'm not a newbie to growing but am to indoor. I am about to harvest my first CFL which did great for what it is. I am stepping up to a 600w Quantum ballast with a Hydrofarm Daystar AC. I noticed that specs for the Daystar(DA6AC) say that it's compatible with 1000,600,400 HPS but only 400,1000 MH. Does this mean I can't put a 600w MH and run off that Quantum ballast which supports both HPS & MH? I'm not sure why the specs for that reflector leave out 600w MH and it seems like a lot of them do. :confused:

    Accepts: Sodium 400,430,600, 1000 - Halide 400, 1000

    There is no 600 W Halide (It only exists as a "Conversion Bulb") so the answer to your question is YES, it will support all HID's (MH and HPS).
