Question about recieving a CA med. card

    how long must you be a resident in CA before you're able to be a medical marijuana patient?

    good question...i know u need a licence so, as long as it takes to get ur licence? thats my guess but some1 else might help u better

    you can get a cali medical card as soon as you can get a california state id or drivers liscense

    Depending on the Dr., you may be able to get it with just a printout from the DMV. I did both in one day.

    you need to show proof you live in the state though to get your id, correct? like utility bills.

    No, they don't ask you for utility bills. Just your ID.

    All you need is your birth certificate, proof of legal residence, etc...
    they take your social security number and thumbprint.. you'll need a valid address for them to put on your ID...

    the only thing is.. if you use a friend's address and for any reason they need to apply for a loan, or benefits of some sort where the total number of household members is a concern, they can get screwed because the state of california says you live there.. just saying its a stretch, but it could very well happen.

    Also, can't you get called up for jury duty and then if you fail to appear or be excused end up with a bench warrent?:confused:

    If you use someone else's California Address to get a Medical MJ recommendation in CA ,you're just as bad as someone lying about a condition to get a card. In order for our system to work and continue, we all need to work WITHIN the system and not pervert it for our own selfish reasons.

    If you're going on vacation and you want to use/buy weed-just go to Breckenridge, its legal. No need for all this sneaking around, getting fake cards. I'm sure the ski resort people will be delighted to have your business!

    When you spend your money in Breckenridge you can show the tourism industry the postive impact that legalization can have. Nevada is looking into legalization now, from an increased tourism point of view. Plus, stoned people in casinos will spend more, they hope.

    If you're for legalization, not just MMJ, then get out and do things that support full legalization, don't sit on MMJ's coat tails. Us sick people are doing our bit for Cannabis as medicine (which it is), if you want it available as a recreational drug then do your bit for that.
