I was thinking about how to setup a simple mother/clone area using a rubbermaid container and stacking it in the corner of the closet. I already zip tied three 32w 18" fluro tubes to the lid of the container and didn't think about the heat being a problem and potential melting the lid? :\ If it is a problem I'm sure I can just zip some scrap wood between them. Running out of zipties! Anyways, those of you using rubbermaids. Any problems melting your plastic from lights touching it? I'll probably get some wood anyways but, you know. lazy atm. Do you think the plastic traps too much heat and you don't like growing in them? I'm going to tape the inside to lightproof, then cover that in cheapo spaceblanket mylar (metalized, aluminized, whatever). Using some foam weather stripping to help airtight the lid for my 80mm computer exhaust fan. Maybe I'll use two if people say heat is bad. Anyways.
why don't you just give like an inch airspace between the plastic and lights? Should be fine. Rubbermaids do tend to get a bit warmer, but if you're cloning that just replaces the heating mat.
Ah, yea I guess I could do that too. I just wanted everything tied down nicely. Good input on the heating for clones.
